i am looking forward to it, i like the new changes and willing to risk it i think. i look forward to part 2 of the new updates, cant wait to see what else is planned

I'm looking forward to Cortana.

I'm also hoping that the TV Tuner DVR feature that was mentioned last year will finally arrive in one of these waves...

Well, it's a much bigger update than the usual monthly ones we used to have - it's so major that it's specifically opt-in (at least to start), same as when the New Xbox One Experience went into Preview last year.

Still, some of the new features do look really good (e.g. Cortana via headset!).

Hmm.

It's the first major update since last year's NXOE. And, like the NXOE, the preview is specifically opt-in.

The NXOE preview was, IIRC, the only one to have a known issue list for each build, listing games and apps that didn't work (rather than just having patch notes listing what was fixed with each build). ED was on the first list, although it got fixed quickly.

It's already started rolling out, so I'm hoping it will have updated by the time I'm home later today...

I'm in the preview program but I didn't see anywhere to opt into anything. At least not in the preview program app. Am I missing something?

Try going to registration page in the preview app, then go to change, should see part for opting into new preview, not at my console right now so i might be off on what the page says exactly though.

I just looked at mine it's showing "April 22nd, general bug fixes"....okay....

CRAP! I may have screwed up, I clicked on unenroll to see if there was a warning & my dog sat on my hand and caused me to unenroll! [where is it]

I'm looking at it and for me it just gives me 2 options, be in the current preview experience or be removed. If it doesn't update for me no biggie I guess. I haven't seen much change since they changed the homescreen layout.

The dashboard preview and Elite seem to get along just fine. I have been playing Elite off and on since the update and haven't had any more issues than usual, buzz-crashes and whatnot.

Call Xbox support and ask nicely if they will re-enroll you in the preview program as you made an error in unenrolling. You may also be lucky enough to score an invite from a friend that hasn't used them all, if the preview program still works as it used to. Also, remember that dashboard previews usually hit in waves. Just because you don't have the new preview doesn't mean you won't. This preview is being released all through June, so have heart Cmdrs, you may well get in yet!

Edit: It seems I have an invite or two. I would be willing to float one your way if you can't get things sorted, Stealth. I don't mind helping a fellow Cmdr.

I am one, yet, I'm very much on the fence. Besides the known issues that arise, gaming in elite or say ark, I've experienced a frustrating issue, Microsoft shuts everything you're doing down immediately for an update, no warning, nothing like they do on PC, some games no big deal, say in ark, that is most likely death of you, your tame, loss of gear. So I may pass...

You need to be invited to opt-in by MS, as with the NXOE Preview.

Invites are going out in waves, based on feedback scores.

Un-enrolling in the Preview Dashboard app un-enrolls the console, not the account. AFAIK it should be possible to simply change groups back to the normal Preview and wait to be re-enrolled.
