I know I asked this before and it would be cool to connect them both but with the testing I've done in game with other players I don't see how it will matter.
As it stands instancing is really messed up and most of the time you will not see another player in the same system/station/RES site even if you both constantly jump from one to the other. I tested this for an hour with another player and not once did we ever land in the same instance. AN HOUR of zoning into RES back into the system back into the station back into system back into RES and never once did we show.
Until you add them to your friends list they won't show, and why makes no sense to me even if the idea is to provide the player with the lowest ping connection you should prioritize the instance with the human players first and the low latency second. This way atleast I know I can re-jump to a system if it's too busy and be provided with real player-system activity on the initial jump. Right now it seems to prioritize based on latency, however I might be incorrect.
Based on these tests it's a miracle I have seen other players just flying around trading and sitting in stations but I have. What's really sad is how many players you don't see because of this issue. If I didn't want to see other players in Open I would play solo. The instancing issue, I had seen complained about in multiple threads, I was unsure existed should be a top priority if rectifiable at all. If it's a busy system (contains rares, spawn area, capital) I can understand but these tests were done in systems with few or no other players.
