Xbox to PC transfer question

hi all, had abit of break from elite the last 6 months or so but I built a gaming PC recently and probably going to transfer my assets from my XBOX commander to my PC commander of the same name, I know a few people have made the old switcheroo over to PC and was wondering if selling ships/modules before transferring is recommended or does it not make a difference regarding the asset amount that is transferred?

thanks in advance, [up]

This may not be a thing but I'm sure someone on the Unofficial Elite Dangerous Facebook community page mentioned they had done an asset transfer from Xbox to PC via a support ticket. I'm not sure if this is but I guess rank and wealth are just numbers so doesn't hurt to ask. I see no reason why they couldn't copy account data across platform.

It's usually just credits that's transferred over.

The value of ships and modules will be transferred over as well but not the items themselves.

It could well be advantageous to sell everything, modules first then the ships.

Given the current goldrush in mining is it worth just starting a new account on PC and keeping the old one? Credits are easy to come by, and you don't get to xfer the more time consuming engineer / system / tech unlocks...

A small part of me wants to start again from scratch but the game looks and runs so much better on PC I don't think I'll play it on Xbox again very often if at all, so I figured why waste all that hard earned money, I don't mind re grinding engineers and rank for my beloved corvette,

I read the support page and all it mentions is current assets, which is fine in the grand scheme of things it won't matter much but seen as i have about 4.5billion in assets on Xbox account, think I'll just submit the ticket and ask about that and see what they say

I transferred over from PS4 to PC back in April and it's your whole "current assets" that are transferred, not you "credit balance". Therefore there is no need to sell your ships, modules etc.

I hope that helps.
