xbox to pc transfer question

I do not have a PC that can run odyssey, I do not know when I will be upgrading either.

However, I do not want to miss my opportunity to transfer my account from Xbox since the time window to do so will be limited.

My question is can I install some kinda downloader on my current PC like Steam or Frontier Store downloader and get the account at least copied over to the PC?

Or am I screwed because I do not have a PC capable of running it and won't be getting one for at least another year?

Any advice on this issue would help even if the answer is a NO. Also is linking my Xbox account to Frontier a necessary step for the Transfer?

The copied commander you receive as part of the transfer/copy will be Horizons, and you wil get a license to play horizons on PC. As long as the current PC can run horizons in some way shape or form (the hardware required is less powerful than Odyssey requires), you should be OK. They have not stated how they will offer the download, but I expect it will be direct form the Frontier store's servers, as it would be if you bought a PC copy of Elite Dangerous Horizons at the moment.

@DREVS I'd expect that you'll only need a pc able to run the EDH launcher and not even the actual EDH game. Logging into the launcher would stimulate all the account linking 'verify your email' malarky within the limited time-period, and you're good! FDEV will clarify soon anyway.

Whilst I too save up for a (RTX 40xx) EDO capable pc, in the interim (with decent internet at home) I subscribe to a proper cloud pc for a fraction of the cost of inflated gpu prices these days and enjoy EDO in its full glory whilst I wait. Avoids FOMO anxiety! GFN is another (cheaper) option also.

Estoy de acuerdo que podamos transferir la cuenta de xbox a pc... pero sigo pensando que Frontier no obligue a nadie a seguir en pc sino seguir jugando en nuestra consolas xbox o playstation. Que sigan dando apoyo a galmet y cada periodo de tiempo sigan limpiando y mejorando con actualizaciones el juego. Y que para el año que viene nos digan que en consola sigamos jugando con alguna alegria. Mis ilusiones para final de año estan hay

Another question, I just bought full game on for my PC and plan on using the transfer service in September, question is should I wait until then to install the game on my PC or will I have issues if I install now?

As far as I'm aware, the transfer process can either give you a free horizon account (which then can be used on steam via keys) or can be used on an existing account but will overwrite that save.
I have my free epic account which I bought odyssey but I'll probably go for the free horizon account and transfer it to steam so I can pay via geforce now

Sorry if my question is very stupid, but...
I missed out for some time. Where can I find the basic instructions for the migration? (how to do the request, what's the timeframe in which I have to apply for it, etc).
I have been googling for some time, but I find lot's of articles explaining what will be migrated and what will not, but I am not able to find the basics how to...

We are not there yet
When the time will come, they will announce it (most probably it would require opening a support ticket)
