I didn’t know anything about this game or the legacy edition that I would automatically be placed in on console. Nowhere on the store page does it mention that I’m buying basically an empty experience.

But will be honest with you I've been playing since 2016 and I'm still playing now. It's only critical fixes with nothing new but unfortunately it's still the best space SIM for Xbox

At this point I get the feeling that those are organized troll posts. People that are just new to the game, then sign up on this forum and act as if they got scammed, always the same pattern.
Yes, it is very sad, that we console players will probably never get the live version but it is still the same game as it was years ago and still worth AT LEAST 500 hrs of gameplay which not a lot of AAA titles will offer.
If we console players want to be taken seriously we should act like so and not cry 'scam' whenever possible.

Yes, that's unfortunate and should be worded better for all console versions.
That's because you didn't buy an empty experience. There are 10,000+ systems populated with space stations, starports, NPCs, just for starters.
And still lots of active player factions expanding around the Bubble
