New trailer is out for XCOM 2 on the official site. I guess the story is that humanity lost the alien invasion and now you're leading a resistance movement. And oh yeah, you have a sword now. lol. I suppose it's a bit like they mixed XCOM with a dash of XCOM Apocalypse and added procedural level generation.

ETA November of this year.

Finally! I have been waiting for so long. Now if someone would reboot Front Mission, then i would be so happy.

I didn't like the Firaxis reboot that much; maybe it was just that I've aged but it didn't grab me the same way the original did. Is this new one by the Gollop brothers?

First time I played it I couldn't really get into it either - but a few months later I started playing it for real and *really* enjoyed it. You should give it another go, it might surprise you. The trick I think is not to get wiped out early and gain a couple of levels, get some new armour on your troops - then the game becomes really fun.

Not really sold on the snake-lady. Looks like something from a fantasy game. Needs to look more alien.

Was really looking forward to a TFTD sequel, but this will also do. Firaxis have also said the following, which I find very important.

1. PC exclusive (or main platform).
2. Procedural maps.
3. Modding support.

I'm not very good at XCOM (the Firaxis one). Fired it up last night to see where I left it. I had like 3 countries already off the map. Did a mission and got 3 of my 5 soldiers killed. Tucked tail and ran, lol.

Then I got one of those missions against the alien sympathizers and bombed hard. Argh.

I think way back I got close to the end of the game but gave up, too. I like the *idea* of XCOM...played just about every iteration of the games...but I'm really no good at them!
