Xeno scanner: Where do I buy and what mount does it use?

It requires a utility slot.
I got my Xeno scanner, Experimental missiles and Research Limpet controllers from the surface base "Pond Survey" at 60 Tauri, which isn't too far back into the bubble if you're already around Maia and it has LYR's discount too. I haven't checked since the last CG but it should have the gun too as IIRC it's a military system.
Jameson Memorial also seemed to stock the equipment when I was there last week, but I always seek out the bargains to keep my bank manager happy and rebuy costs at their minimum values!

Follow-up question. Do I use the xeno scanner for the Thargoid wormhole thing, or a wake scanner for that?

I'm guessing the Research Limpits is to collect the Thargoid hearts/tissue. What are Thargoid hearts and tissue used for exactly? Are they required to upgrade any engineer stuff or anything? Thanks.

There is a mission you get when you land at Obsidian Orbital. Not why I'm doing it though.

also the reason I got my xeno stuff from cal nebula, because UA's being sold to a lot of places in and near Maia causing lock downs. it's rare that ford research lab gets UA bombed with it being far away from the UA bubble.

Neither is used for anything currently. Whatever use they might have is down the track.
