Xeno threat incoming

My bro just sent me this pic of the mission board, looks like a bug made a placeholder pop up early.

Note that he just said this was the ship mission board so please move the thread if necessary

yes. lets start the burning of the bubble. I imagine it will tike about 3 months or so of losing the invasion until the bubble is reduced enough to start becoming interesting to play in.

  • Boom time delivery of 96t of thargo-flakes to Xzptrkkvy Gateway, Ghhk System.
  • Assassination: Kill Thargoid Pirate Lord Wrczzf Gobllm in UwU System.
  • Massacre: destroy 94 ships from faction UwU Nationalists.
  • Donation: donate 250000 credits to help cause of Crimson Spores of UwU.

Speaking of Thargoids. I've never had a beef with them. Been interdicted a few times in Horizons, and scanned at one of the material grind sites, but never any pewpew, just eye candy. The other day in Odyssey, I saw a non-human signal source, and decided to go and look at it. After I arrived, a few Vipers left in a hurry, and the next thing that happened was that my paperplane Phantom was swarmed by Thargoid Scouts that started shooting, blowing up my ship in a few seconds. Was it always like that, or has Thargoid behavior been changed in Odyssey?

I kind of liked that they weren't hostile if you weren't, being the Martian ambassador, and all that :alien:

Scouts are always hostile afaik, Interceptors - depend on situation, usually not

The Thargoids have been mostly passive with me as well.
The only time they have been aggressive was when I had Guardian stuff in my Inventory. I'm sure I've read elsewhere that this can be the cause of hostility.

Just going to repeat what I said further up.

This is not new.

Thargoid missions have existed for quite some time.
The only thing new about it, is they segmented the mission board up to allow you to filter for what you want (a long requested feature, good move) and so, one of the filters is thargoid missions, because those exist (and have done for some time) - it's just they aren't very common.

They tend to happen around aegis megaships and stuff - they are kill X scouts or kill X Cyclops and stuff.

It is nothing new. You can all calm down.

You are always that serious?

Well, maybe we'll see something of it after console launch. I'm thinking the buggy state of Odyssey might be the spanner in the spokes for space insects.
