XPost: Please put a detention centre in the Witch Head Nebula

Crosspost because I'm a forum noob:
Getting sent back to the Pleiades for accidentally hitting an AX defence ship in one of the conflict zones out here really sucks.

It's supposed to, it's punishment, it's a deterence, wouldn't be that much of a deterrence if it didn't suck.

Removing the relocation to a Detention center for any crimes smaller than a Murder would go a long way to cut off the weird quirks of the dysfunctional C&P System on the low end of the scale.

As it stands now, any Weapon-related fine that hits something can get you to a Detention Center over a fine as low as 100Cr. Which is utter nonsense.

If "hand yourself in" and its Detention Center loop began at let's say 5000Cr, folks suffering from minor accidents could pay off their small fines and move on without hassle.

Yes, this too - the small offences need to be bounties to allow legal retaliation, but the sort of the distinction the original Elite had between Offender and Fugitive status, where you got shot at by the authorities either way but were a lot more restricted as a Fugitive, would work well.

With four different major jurisdictions in the Witch Head, it might take more than one detention centre - unless there's some way to add an "all powers" detention centre.

(Or I guess wait for the Alliance to finish taking over, then just add an Alliance prison ship?)
The Pleiades has only 1 detention facility, but has multiple station affiliations 🤔 I don't understand detention

Not sure we should require the OP to solve implementation issues anyway, fdev may have a better solution 🤷‍♀️

Yeah but I don't see an NPC ship flying into me in a Conflict Zone and then blowing up as my fault.

It's certainly not worth the 600Lys back.

Yes, I did that trip twice after getting my Beluga stuck on something inside a burning station, fined for loitering, then blown up seconds later.

This.

Why Detention Centers are employed for extremely tiny bounties is beyond me.

Ramp murder up to larger sums and set the 'Go to Jail' metric at 5,000 credits or more. That's pocket change to even a starting commander.

Or just redesign C&P. Again. Everybody hates it, anyways. Again.
