(YANC, yet another noob question) pips?

They're the little squares in the power management section - reconfigures power distribution into "Systems" "Engines" or "Weapons".

Should be covered in the pilot manual stickies in this forum :)

Three.....Err.....Bar graphs on the centre/right of the cockpit....

Sys....Eng.....Wep......

Pips are underneath showing what ?power is allocated to each.....

More pips in Eng = more thrust....

More pips in Sys = shield.....

More pips in wep = lasers take longer to overheat......

It just moves the power supply priority around......

Not a great explanation........It's Friday night.....

Ah, another area I haven't explored yet. Thanks.

This game is a bit like Eve, but also not. Eve was pretty simple on the surface. The mechanics were straightforward, but understanding the underpinnings and how to optimize and take advantage of things was hideously complex. I'm interested to see how this one plays out :)

"Pips are small but easily countable items. The term is used to describe the dots on dominoes, dice, denote suits, and is the name for the small seeds of some fruits. It could be used as a synonym for dot in most situations" ~ Wikipedia
