But I don't know how to move around the UI panels with a Black Widow so I'm a bit scared to move out of the combat scenarios.
Anyone got any idea ? I tried the tiny joystick on top of the flight stick thingy (technical terms obviously)

I remapped mine to the numpad keys as I had/have no idea what was mapped to my stick and throttle.

lol - then I get into the multiplayer game and the little joystick starts to work - just ignore me please - I'll be sitting in the corner with an idiot's hat on

Good way to remap your keys is to go back into the very first mission. not multi player, Scenarios- where you shoot the garbage. Just stop and play with your mapping change stuff, fool around with it. You can always go back to default. Look around and search on the forums, there are plenty of threads mentioning how to set up controls and binds.

I have had to re-do mine several times with updates and changes to the various alpha versions. It is a good idea to save your 'custom.binds' file (I think that is the name) once you are happy. You'll get use to it. Just give it time and play with it.

And above all- keep in mind it is a Beta, things are being worked on and changed all the time. Submit tickets. Point is to test and break the game, not so much 'play'. You paid to get into this and that means crashes, heartache at losing money/ships, bugs, griefers, and hardware issues. I could not join multiplayer for weeks when it was introduced. It is not all 100% fun! But relax and enjoy it. In a few weeks we will most likely get a big update and you will lose everything! Money, ship, custom binds. So sit back and enjoy what you can. So far it has been a great ride.
