Newcomer / Intro Yellow and Blue markers - what are they?

I'm not entirely new to the ED universe, but I have a perplexing question none-the-less:

Firstly: On the galaxy map there are little yellow and blue markers. I take it that one is your ship's current location. What's the other?

Secondly: On the UI Nav Panel on the left, there are often the same yellow and blue markers within the list of navigation points within a system. What do these represent?

I've tried to research this myself prior to posting, both in the forum and in the game manual, but I've come up with nothing so far. Can anyone shed any light?

Not sure what your UI is set to colour wise , but it could be systems missions where have missions to complete , other ships you have bought and stored , people in your friends lists current locations.

Blue is your current location. Yellow is the target solar system if you have one. E.g., in a long route, blue shows your location and yellow your next waypoint.

I've kept my UI to the default (amber) colour.
