Yes another HOTAS mount (Logitech X56)

My kind friend with 3D printer revamped a HOTAS plan on thingi for my needs using a beefy desk clamp. The clamps we found on Amazon and are linked in the Thingiverse page. Works great! Pics are from my setup.

Link at Thingiverse along with parts:

Everything fit perfectly especially the bolts for the throttle/joystick, lined up spot on. He fabbed this on his X55 setup so that will answer any of those questions, yes it will work on X55 :)

Lol, just asking, cuz I have considered making my own in the past. I never really seen one I could build that was as good quality as even the monster tech knockoffs you find now and again, without spending enough money that I should have just bought those instead.

Nah I know what you mean buddy, I was just being a pain in the butt like normal!

Yes, I am actually considering making my own HOTAS joystick with a 3D printer.
The current ones are mostly right handed only, with only one having a left hand version (The Virpil range - If you want to pay more than 600 bucks for it).
Also, the controls are really in the wrong places for my liking on the Warthog and such, buttons on the front of the throttle handle would be nice instead of having to find them on the base, expecially in VR where you can't see what you are doing and have to find them by touch.

Printing my own would allow me to tailor the grips specifically how I want them. My only problem would be finding a circuit design and software to program all the buttons to keybinds etc and allow the analogue inputs to be read by my PC.

So I spent my first solid gaming evening last night on this and the only issue so far is throttle at 100% is a 'bit' close to the front wall. Its not an issue if you are gently using the throttle but a full on grip your knuckles may touch if you have big hands like me LOL.

Spoke with my friend about moving it further back and he feared that would cause flexing which makes sense. Either way it works for me as is. Can live with it. I know him though he's going to make another version :)
