Yes, I know: It's Galnet, probably nothing, but odd story anyway

Crew Missing from Celebrity’s Starship
10 JAN 3305

A luxury star yacht belonging to famous actor Consuela Knight has reached its destination with nobody onboard.

The incident was reported by independent newsfeed The Sovereign:
“Consuela Knight’s beautiful ship often attracts admirers when it arrives at a starport. But on this occasion it also brought security forces, since the custom-built private yacht was completely empty.”

“Investigators discovered that the ship was in perfect condition with all escape pods intact. There were signs of recent activity, such as unfinished meals and handheld equipment on the floor. Computer records confirmed the crew's presence until a few minutes before arrival, when all five people – including Ms Knight– simultaneously vanished.”

“Engineering and hyperspace experts have begun analysing data to unravel this mystery. But there is no reason to believe there are any survivors of this phenomenon.”

So, transporter beams confirmed??? :S
Also, what does a luxury yacht look like in-game?
And WHERE was Mr. Null at the time this took place?

I blame T.J. for this.

Also, remember the whole art thief thing? The story arc for that is still ongoing. So, I wouldn't rule this out too quickly as being nothing.

Ah, you are quite right and I apologize. Let me add that in right now:

And I blame TJ as I'm sure the authorities are looking for him with some very interesting questions.

They look like this:

And it depends on which Zerek Null about which you are referring. If you're talking about one of the half-dozen clones, they were where they were supposed to be. If you're referring to Null Zero, then still in the vat having DNA extracted for the production of additional clones, as needed, where it's been for the past three years.

Tossing one off, in other words

Hm, transporters to support space legs and not having to traverse distances you just can't imagine the scale of...I do reckon that's where this is going.

The thing I found interesting was they never said what system - I wanted to go take a look to see if anything was there, lol.

SPACE LEGS CONFIRMED!!!!

ABOUT BLOODY TIME!

Also, why would anyone rush to admire that ship?... It's a bloody Beluga. We all know they are in the top 1% of all ships out there, but they're pretty much literally a dime a dozen these days.

No system named to investigate, not that I'd expect anything to investigate as a general rule from these articles :/

We can not investigate this since there is no system informed.

This kind of event is not the first time ever, but all the other cases have happened before in Sol around 20th century. Therefore the first place to search for more information is the paper prints from that era. Back then people believed in a high tech race which was collecting samples to perform all types of testing. Military forces have been aware of these events. All the cases have been rated to top secret or fake news. However, we do have indication that this type of events did happen near Lave system in 32th century as well.

The old investigations point out that the events have also been linked to some kind of "teleportation" technology. This technology transformed into FSD drives as we currently know them. The early forms of the FSD were also a bit unstable and sometimes ships came through without any crew left in them.

The early tests showed that the only way to travel faster than light was to twist space time in certain way. The very first testing went all wrong and the entire crew except of the two who were close to reactor were burned to death. The two exceptions went missing completely.

We know who did this testing, but since we can not even confirm the system we are not able to establish a link between these incidents.

Right now, all we can do is wait for the information about the system where this event did happen.

Odd that the crew (living organisms) were the only thing in the transit that would go missing. How would their atoms be different from the atoms of the chair on the bridge (other than it not being a living thing)?

Perhaps we'll get a quest to investigate some odd POI and find their bodies twisted inside out somewhere.

An unknown alien race abducted her and the others on board so that they could act in their movies.

Hopefully "Plan 9 From Outer Space" is NOT getting a remake.
Same for "Queen of Outer Space."
