PvP Yes, your Corvette is slow

Grade 5 Dirty Drive....

The only ships slower than you are condas and Type 9s.

The big 3 are slooooooooooooooooooooooooow and always will be.

You: "Duel me."

Me: "LoL kthxbai! Cya chump!"

My Corvette, fully armed and armored with military grade alloys, has a boost of 352 m/s with a decent Grade 5 dirty drive tune. It doesn't matter if there are smaller ships that can outrun it because none of the larger ships can match its firepower (two dorsal class 4's with excellent fire arcs), maneuverability (better than all of the larger ships) or sustained combat ability (plenty of internals for SCBs). I can destroy anything I can catch and anything that can outrun my Corvette can be taken out by the fixed plasma repeaters on my Condor SLFs.

Corvette is terrible for PVP. Unless it's fighting an Anaconda or another Corvette. It is just to slow.
Turned mine into a Haz Res miner.

And Cutter's are fast doh...

Cutter - large, beautifully crafted and oddly aerodynamic but balanced and elegant. Perfect for hauling human dung across the systems.

Mine peaks at 359, again with an armoured hull. It's fast enough for what I need it to do. The Cutter gives you speed but loses on manoeuvrability, the Corvette gives you manoeuvrability but less speed. But it's still faster and more manoeuvrable than a Conda, losing out on jump range.

For day to day activities I find the corvette to be the least compromised of the three, the T-9 isn't even part of the decision tree. But it's horses for courses. I own them all.

Dat's cuz da Vette don't need to run away

Yes, but it's nice to get to the party on time like I do in my 450+kps engineered Hull Tanked Battle Cutter! :D

Slow compared to what?

- Everything is slow compared to a tweaked iCourier (even a regular iCourier)
- Everything is fast compared to a fully laden non-engineered T-9

Well, we could trick the troll (is it one? I've seen worse) and turn this into something useful.

Yes, the Corvette is slow. What to do about this?

I haven't got my rank to purchase one yet, but when I do, I plan to outfit her with long range (energy) weapons.
With all my other ships, I use different strategies, this might give me a new combat experience.

I this a good plan?
Will I have distributor issues, if staying away from 'efficient' mods?
Or, if I will have to reduce the ammount of long-range weapons due to energy/distributor limitations, will it cripple the built beneath usefullness and all-efficient weapons are the wa to go?

(By the way ... shouldn't the whole thread be located in the "ships" forum section?)

A thread titled "Yes, your corvette is slow" is destined to land somewhere in-between a troll thread and a productive, on topic thread.

I, for instance, made one funny response attempt and also one productive response attempt. I thought that was appropriate for this thread.

Anything else is probably too serious or too silly.

;)
