Yet Another Awe-Inspiring Moment

A few weeks ago, I posted the picture of my ship on a moon, with Saturn in the background. It was absolutely the most breathtaking thing I had ever seen. Until now. I was cruising around when I found a peculiar little moon, wizzing around a planet at unheard of speeds. After landing on the moon, I saw this. I just had to record it, and see what you guys think.

This is real time. Not sped up at all, what-so-ever. Not even cut. This game never ceases to amaze me.

Very, very nice. Have some rep.

One thing I don't understand though is, that I never see such blackness on the planets I land on. They always magically light up somehow. Is there a setting I overlooked?

That rock moves fast. If you stood still in its orbital path with FA on, d'ya think it would come around and smack you into oblivion, I wonder.....

If you're in supercruise it will just emergency drop you out and take you with it.

But... if you're in normal space... I ... I don't know. Has anyone tried that yet? If not, we need someone to try it. My guess would be it'll engage orbital flight mode when it gets close enough.

Ill try that now actually. That's a good idea.

Okay. The moon itself stops moving when you are not in supercruise, but the marker for it does. When the marker passes over the spot you are, the moon disappears, and you are thrown into the orbital cruise above the moon. From that point, you move with the moon.

Does anyone know if this type of movement is actually possible? Surely the moon would crash into the planet on this close of an orbit.

There is some weird auto-brightness when at the 'night' side. However, this doesnt apply when the light is blocked by a different celestial body, as in this vid. I sure hope they'll disable that auto-brightness thing...
