Yet Another Ranking Thread - A Request To Collate Information On Ranking After 1.5 Update

So here's my theory, and a request to the community to help. I'll collate (fancy word for collect) the information here to help everyone.

I'd like to know what percentage the "Effect On Reputation" makes at each rank level, and if the type of mission you do makes a difference.
All you have to do, is if you do a mission for either the Federation or Empire (it shouldn't make any difference), take note (or screenshot it) of the mission type and the "Effect On Reputation", whether it's low, medium or high, and what percentage increase that made and what rank.

Yeah I know, it means you'll have to actually pay attention, which is evil of me :D
But if you can help with this, you'll be helping everyone trying to rank up.
This should now be possible, now that the rank progress bars actually work, and you don't need Horizons to do this, as it is a 1.5 update thing.

So here's the information I want to fill in :

9 - Lieutenant Commander - Count - Low % - Medium % - High %

10 - Post Commander - Earl - Low % - Medium % - High %

11 - Post Captain - Marquis - Low % - Medium % - High %

12 - Rear Admiral - Duke - Low % - Medium % - High %

13 - Vice Admiral - Prince - Low % - Medium % - High %

14 - Admiral - King - Low % - Medium % - High %

If you're willing to help, post in this thread, or PM me and I'll update this table.

Summary:
* Do 1 mission for an aligned faction.
* Note the mission type and "Effect On Reputation".
* Note your current rank (Ensign / Baron etc) and the percentage increase when you successfully complete the mission (ie look at what it is before & after you hand in the mission in).
* Then post all that in this thread.

Yeah I'm ok with that! I hate things that make tasks easier or reduce the work like dungeon queues or leveling skills when not playing. This is more of an information or GUI tweak so yeah you get my support.

Rank Baron Long range delivery mission from Fehu to some planetary settlement in the bubble. Reward about 800 000 CR, effect 1%.

from what i can remember last night

empire
knight
before 65%
assassination

maybe the higher the players rank in combat, trading or exploration effects it also because it took me no time to get to knight by doing tycoon long range trade missions. whereas my combat rank is only competant and the people i was sent to kill were just actors that did their own stunts lol
 
One thing we may need to look at as well, your standing with the local faction giving the mission? I do know your local reputation definitely influences the types and quality of jobs you get offered, so is it possible that being 'new' in a system and not having done anything for the local factions could actually cause less points to given towards rank for missions that would otherwise cause more points to be given towards rank?

I'm not sure I'm saying that right either...but essentially, the local factions wouldn't give as much rank reward for the new guy as they would for someone they already know and trust for the exact same job.

Well, I'm a bit late to the post but I did make a few notes earlier for myself as I was curious about Fed ranking stats as it's new to me. Doesn't have the detail you're looking for but may prove of some interest:

Faction: Fed
Rank: Cadet
% Before: 78% (new as of the 1.5 update, I've not upgraded to Horizons)
Mission type: Charity
Effects not recorded
One note is that I'm 100% allied with Fed.
% after 2 charity missions: 87%
same as above
% after 2 charity missions: 94%
same as above
% after 1 charity mission: 99%
same as above
% after 1 charity mission 100%
Completed a few charity missions (sorry don't have exact record, maybe 3-4)
Ascension mission completed (deliver data to outpost, interdicted 2x)
Rank now Midshipman
% after ranking mission 37% (I think some of the missions after 100% but before the ranking mission carried forward, and the ranking mission itself may have added because I'm fairly sure I didn't do that many missions in between).
same as above
% after 3 charity missions 48%
% after 3 charity missions 59%

I didn't record a lot of detail after that. I did a number of delivery missions and more of the "charity" missions, but no combat missions came up, which is what I was hoping for.

did pay a bit attention to the amount of progress yesterday myself but didnt write it down so it may be not exactly accurate:

i'm not sure if you got that much progress before the update or if its just the fact to know how much you actually progress but it seems to me its going faster than before

While standard missions (deliveries, assasinations) only improve my rank counter 2-4%, the multi stage missions, where you are contacted in space seem to increase the rank around 30%. Hence, these type of missions are better for ranking, even if they take some time to solve.

Remark:
Tested on my secondary account still being at initial unranked level.

Just to clarify: do you mean take a long-range smuggling mission, follow the guy's wake that wants to talk to you, and do the other option? 'cause I've been trying to grind long-range smuggling from Fehu and made a handful of percent for a fair few hours. Also, if you're to take an imperal mission, then take the defection, surely you'd fail the mission? Sorry, the whole thing's a bit confusing to me, as intriguing as it sounds...

did it 3 times before flying with snow balls to Hel for the CG :D
seems Bento is another possibility for ranking up, only major faction in economic bust though and giving the donation mission
