Yet another storage idea

(totally stealing the VAST majority of this from an old text based online RPG, but it's still a good idea)

each CMDR has the ability to purchase access to a SINGLE storage 'vault' (at a time, moving is an option, but must close old vault first)
this vault, instead of paying rent based on how long you have stuff in them, you essentially rent permission to put stuff in or take stuff out.

example:
i pay 500,000 CR to have access to a vault that can store 100t of cargo, this access lasts for 1 month.
at the end of the month, I must manually pay again, or they simply lock the vault, and i cannot access my stuff.

2 weeks later, i decide i want to access my vault again, so i pay another 500,000 credits, and they come unlock the vault for me for the next 30 days.
10 days later, i want my stuff. i'm already paid up, so i just go grab my stuff.
25 days later, i decide i want to open a vault elsewhere, but i still have something in my vault, and it's not paid up.
-- i have 2 options:
1) buy access, Empty the vault, and then manually close it.
2) The station my stuff is in sells it for me, at whatever the commodity market would give me, less 10% fee for handling, and closes the vault at the first station.
2a) closing the vault and having the station sell it when you don't have current access would cause the station to keep 50% as a fee instead of 10%, because they've been storing your junk for free.

-- i can now open a vault elsewhere, automatically closing my current empty vault.
--vaults could be tiered... for instance, 500k opens a 100t vault, 1M cr opens one that can store 200t
-- -- moving from tier to tier requires purchasing that tier as though you had none.. so if you open a 100t vault, then decide you need a 200t vault, you end up paying 1.5M... so open the largest vault you MIGHT want, if you want to minimize costs.
-- -- down-sizing vaults requires that the stuff in the vault can fit completely into the new size.. so if you have 101t, you CANNOT downsize to a 100t vault.
-- so long as i have access to my vault (i am current on my 'rent') i can buy and sell directly to the vault.
-- any action which closes a vault forfeits any remaining time on that vault. open a vault, store something for 1 day, then close it, you paid 500k CR for 1 day of storage..

pro's:
- single vault per account (simpler for FD to manage, less prone to bugs)
- storage available to the players
- someone who stops playing for a long time is not harshly penalized with a rental bill potentially in the billions when they return
- cost prohibitive for just storing up a bunch of stuff to sell.. at about 5k per ton, you're not going to make much money buying vault space just to stock up then sell all at once.
- for a home base, cost would be reasonable (at 5k/t/30 days, cost is about 166 cr per day per ton)

cons'
- single vault
- limited sizes
- cost prohibitive

strong recommendation regardless of the direction FD goes with storage, would be to create an object for weapons, make it's tonnage match the items weight on the fitting screen, and allow us to store our modules (only if fully repaired) as though they were cargo.
