Yet another tool for gankers: We are totally screwed?

Last night I was attacked by a Python mk2 and I did not enjoy it that much 😅
I decided to test its firepower and it took away my shields in about 4 shots and left me 50% hull in a blink.
Don't want to imagine what this thing can do to other ships. Never saw a FDL causing so much damage as this Python did, and I've visited Deciat in open many many times.
So what I see now is all gankers migrating their FDLs to the P2, and most players running away from open.
I wonder how are we going to defend against this new generation ship. I can see huge benefits for gankers only, they must be partying right now.
Perhaps some ships should recall spec-ops police when they do a crime, instead of the regular police? At least they will think twice before attacking, oh well... Personally I find quite challenging to deal with this one.

FDEV married the firepower of a Conda/Vette with the flight model of an agile fighter. Until now a fighter couldn't get that much firepower, and the big ships couldn't chase faster prey. Not anymore. If you are slower than ~550m/s you will suffer when trying to escape. The distributor keeps some weapon combinations out of the picture, but frags have no problem.

Most people don’t enjoy being attacked, it is alleged that this is why some players attack others.

Well it has more guns than an FdL even if they are somewhat power restricted.

According to FDev open is the mode with most players which probably means that only just over a third play there so most walked away ages ago.

Fly further away from them if what I have read about them is true the weaponry is very short ranged.

Hmmm, don't think I've ever been ganked by an FDL. Its usually been Kraits, and the odd Corvette...
The thing is rhat I can play with Kraits and Vettes as long as I want (not so much with FdLs, but with this one there was no time to play

Yeah exactly, that's a good analysis but, this time it had long range weapons and it took me a lot of effort to put my ship 7 km away, I think not only because of top speed but also because its acceleration, which somehow makes better use of every boost

Fly solo or PG, or block them.

Now they give you a good competition, wouldn't you say? That zero re-buy with premium ammo restock is certainly a fine feature for those interested in salt-mining.
Although the zero re-buy only stays if you keep the Stellar prebuild. Swap out any modules, and the new ones will add some re-buy cost. You can however engineer the free modules and keep the zero re-buy that way.

Yes, and adding a size 6 prismatic and military bulkheads makes the rebuy of the ship increase to double the price of a stock Pmk2 rebuy.

Indeed. If I were a ganker, I'd immediately flock to that Stellar offering. So much fun for so little money!

Gimballed multis and pulse lasers the new ganking meta!
Don't forget to add the C6 Biweave and skill booster advantage, making the ship super resistant to the pilot breaking wind inside...

I'm certain that the alleged gank ship was not a vanilla build, if the OP enjoys testing the builds of other players, as mentioned, the vanilla Stellar P2 would have evaporated rapidly!

I find it interesting that OP didn't even state what ship they were piloting, let alone the build. There's no reason to believe "we are totally screwed" based on the information given.

It's just a few raindrops, the sky isn't actually falling.
Yeah well I'm not disclosing my build, but take 1000 shields and 1500 hull, talking about the average ship here, not those doing all their business in a Cutter.
This results in ships like P2 limiting even more the different ships that we can use, doesn't it, and I want to keep on using my likes and still survive, when least
No room for error with P2, receive one more shot and you are done. I was suprised how quick all hitpoints were gone

Yeah definitively not vanilla, I think 4 large long range rail guns and I don't know what else in its mediums. Each shot at 6km was taking 10% of my hull
I know the Stellar build and my ship can handle that anytime
