Yet another VR glasses question

I've been using my Zenni prescription glasses for distance in my Rift, and they do work nicely, except for one thing. I've always gotten glasses with nose pads, but in the Rift, it gets kind of painful after a while. I've never used glasses without nose pads, and was wondering if anyone might have some advices as to going without the pads might be more comfortable.

I'm thinking about ordering another pair of Zenni's without pads, but wanted to check in here first.

Thanks for any advice on this

I'd been resigned to just deal with it for months, playing VR for a couple hours at a time with a day or two in between to avoid the red marks and pain on the nose. Last weekend I removed the pads to see if it was better. The bare mounts were a little less uncomfortable than the pads, but they still dug in. So at that point I said it and ripped off the mounts with needle nose pliers, then I dremeled out the sharp metal until the frames were smooth. The glasses were purchased specifically to fit in the Rift anyway, and the Rift holds them in place. I can now play comfortably as long as I want with no adverse effects other than the hit to my social life.

Another vote for WidmoVR lens inserts. A bit fiddly to attach and keep in the facial interface but once in, they don't move. I bought a cover when I got mine and found I could use the elastic band used to secure it into the interface to also keep the lenses in place, much easier to fit back in now.

Only other problem I have with them is I need a new prescription every six months or so and therefore a new pair of lenses :)

Thanks for all the replies. At this point, I can only afford Zenni's glasses. I just ordered some very light weight ones sized to fit inside the rift. I may give the breathe right strips a try if the nose pads get too annoying, not sure if the pads are too thick, but worth a try. Wearing my glasses in VR makes quite a difference, and after experimenting, I found my distance ones work best.

Thanks again
