No your reading it wrong. The so called 'serious' pilots at present only just pip the fun people that want all three options and more. If you add any of the other groups to the fun pilots, you get an outstanding thumbs up for tacky fun decorations.
As for the Alphans, I'd say we're evenly divided on the issue. For me personally, I want bobbleheads, fluffy dice (I'd settle for a fluffy dice bobblehead) and personalised sun visor strips

But on a more serious note, I don't need any of that stuff and as long as I'm bot forced to have any bobbleheads and fluffy dice in my cockpit, I really don't care.
I can see every Hauler with a dash covered in old fast food containers, tabloids, delivery sheets etc. Just like a real white van.
People have had the option not to have bobbleheads since Alpha 1. seeing as they may be paid for (with real money) cosmetic items I wouldn't expect them to forcibly placed on ships against a commanders will... although once we get the walking around expansion...

But outside of a landing pad, all that detritus would be flying around the cockpit. You'd constantly get hit in the face with half eaten McDeadly Synthetic Chicken stuck to greasy bio-degradable paper wrap and last month's well-thumbed edition of PlayBeing.

if you're driving a Hauler (aka the White Van of the skies) shouldn't you have the option of a 3 week old copy of The Sun stuffed between the windscreen and the dashboard? Maybe a faded red nose zip tied to the front
