You don't have to "A grade" Cutter to be best combat ship in game

My suggestion is to get out of the Cutter and get into a Conda. Sure, the cutter has better shields but the Conda's a magnitude greater in maneuverability and can kill problem ships much faster because of it. That, and the Conda simply has the best overall damage potential of all of the Big Three just because it has more guns strapped to it. And it doesn't drift like snow in a blizzard.

To me the Cutter just looks too much form over function.

Hi everyone!
First of all I want to say "Thanks god rank grinding is over!".
It was so borring and paintfull, but i got Imperial Cutter.
First thing i did of course is -
I jumped (32) times to Kamito to upgrade my "Porche" -
as good as i could because i had just a 600 Million credits for everything.
Then i did some combat and i was dissapointed a little...
My outfit was similar to my last ships (Federal Corvette) outfit -
and it performed quite poor in combat.
After that i did lots of combinations of different weapons and i found it!
I found my "Holy Grail". It is a mix of A, B and D grades.
So.. I decided to share my new and at this point last loadout of my combat Porche:
http://coriolis.io/outfit/imperial_...wRj4yvZYo==.IwBj4yu8g===?bn=Skynet Terminator
There you can see are 3 gimballed and 4 turreted weapons.
Coriolis does not tell you whitch is under ship or which on top so i tell you...
You need to have 2 turreted medium multi cannons on top (large hardpoints)
You need to have 2 turreted medium beam lasers on top of engines.
You need to have 2 gimballed medium multi canons in bottom of engines.
And you have to put one Large gimballed beam laser on ship bottom (huge hardpoint).
You have to put it right this because otherwise weapons won't fire efficiently.
Put yoursef A or B 8 batteries and go to combat, see for yourself..
This ship is amazing!!! You can't touch it without hurting a lot yourself! ;)
Enjoy my loadout or leave any comment.
Have a nice combat! ;)

I bet you haven't used even half of your SCB's. ;) I've been using the Cutter for PvE/PvP for a long time and trust me, that loadout will melt your ship fast once a lot of enemy ships gank you.

I'd suggest you buy a Prismatic shield and build this loadout: http://coriolis.io/outfit/imperial_...15n5n5n372d2b2f.Iw18WAMNkA==.MwBj5BGadu4EziA=

You'll even have a fun time trolling a wing of rail guys. :D

8A SCB with Zero heat-sinks? How can you ?

While what you're proposing as a build is all well and good.... the issue for me is that you've spent 535m on a ship that has less combat effectiveness than a ship loadout costing 400m.

Yes its a lovely looking / sounding ship but for combat effectiveness i'd put my anaconda against that build any-day. Certainly in a PvE situation i'd take my conda everyday of the week and twice on sundays. (i did have a cutter btw but ditched it)

Plus i have 'combat deployable' A7 SCB (with heat-sinks for zero damage) which means i have probably have more effectively shield capacity and better armour once my shields do give out.
Yes the Cutter can escape most encounters but it's tiresome to fight with
The conda is awesome for FA-off boost turns so can keep on-target longer

The cutter is a ship i want, no if or buts but until its changed i just don't see its effectiveness

Once Large/Huge MC's and Pulse's come out, but with fixed only variants, i can see both the Conda and Corvette leave the Cutter behind

Don't you take heat damage from using SCBs without heat sinks?

I'm also irritated that you'd spend the two large hardpoints on medium turrents. (Huge for large beam, i can relate to; )

You get the armor over 2k, switching out that Basic Discovery Scanner ^^

Cutter is a beast, wich is aint that easy to tame like anaconda or vette. It would be nice to have a slight buff for its turn rate (like 1,5 or 2 sec faster) and bit better base cooling(10-15% better), similar like for FDL in these both areas, but even at the way as it is now, its completly fine Imo. Class 8 PD would make it too OP though. I do hope if after Engineers update will be possible to get mini buffs like that from them, fingers crossed...

Its very underrated by many in PVP it seems.... well, probly most of them aint ever fly one.

I'd like to see those changes too, but part of me is a bit uneasy knowing how much easier it will make PA's to use. I use cannons to accommodate the deficiencies you mentioned, if I could get away with PA's whow boy...
