You first 24 hours - how far?

So, it's been over 24 hours since launch how is everyone doing?

Have you hit any milestones or smashed any goals you had set?

After a couple of hours of bounty hunting I bought myself an Adder and then carried on bounty hunting and ran the odd delivery mission, and after a few hours I had enough to A rate my FSD, buy a 3B fuel scoop, an Avanced Discovery Scanner and a Detailed Surface Scanner.

I then bookmarked 40 systems with known ELW (Earth like worlds), all within 250LY of Sol and then set off on an epic discovery journey in 'Little Wizard', my Adder.

After about 5 hours of work, and only about 25 of them visited, I'm currently docked back in the bubble and have 25.6 million in the bank, plus I've hit the exploration rank of Pathfinder.

Pretty happy with that. Most of the systems are about 4-6 jumps apart if you plan your route right, with the odd one being a few more. I honked every system with the ADS on the way through and made sure I scanned all ELW and Water Worlds. If there were High Metal content worlds nearby I scanned those too, but I didn't go out of my way for them.

Time to head to Maia for some Meta Alloys, then I'm off to buy a Cobra MKIII from LYR space. Once I've got my Cobra I'll be visiting Felicity Farseer for a tune up as I've collected quite a few materials already.

Having played on Xbox has given me a slight advantage I guess, but I'm really loving how the game plays on PS4, think my Xbox CMDR is going to be on sabbatical for a while

Data and boom delivery missions mostly for me. A few assassination missions. Havent strayed too far from the star system. Probably still within 20 light years. I've still got the sidewinder, and somewhat beefed up eagle, and currently workin' on upgrading the cobra mkIII. Once that that's done do satisfaction I'll start lookin at some long distance exploration. Maybe save up for an asp scout.

Actually I haven't set foot on a planet yet, so maybe I'll get the sidewinder out of storage and take that down to a planet or two.

Mostly data & delivery missions + some bounty hunting. Still on my sidewinder, which really needs upgrading!

All in all, loving it so far. Enjoying the simulation feeling. Playing on solo, but probably going to go into open in a couple of days.... I wonder how long I'll last? :-D

I'm still in my starting sidey, added a 2B FSD to increase range, been doing missions, mainly courier & salvaging black boxes and picking up any low level bounties I see while I'm out and about.

It's been a long time since I've done the early game grind so I'm quite surprised I've made over 1.5m in my first few hours, I was planning on upgrading to an Adder but am thinking about going straight for a Cobra MKIII which needs just over 2m for the loadout I want to start with.

I have put around 6-7 hours in so far. Being new to the game I have stuck to Transport and Data missions to get used to flying, super cruise, docking etc.

Started out slightly upgrading the Sidey, before trading for an Adder and upgrading that whilst still doing the same Transport/Data missions.
Now I have a Viper MKIV which for now I will be upgrading into a armed trader whilst i build up enough credits to buy and upgrade a type 6 or Cobra for trade, then I intend to deck out the Viper into a full combat/BH ship.

My first 24 hours so far?

Ask for landing permission "disconnected from server."
Jump to new system "disconnected from server."
Leave the station "disconnected from server."
Scan a target "disconnected from server."
Scoop some cargo "disconnected from server."
Look at the galaxy map "disconnected from server."
Sell cargo on the market "disconnected from server."
Leave super cruise "disconnected from server."
Enter super cruise "disconnected from server."

That pretty much sums up my experience in a nut shell.

If you're playing over wi-fi have you tried using a LAN cable instead? If you already do, then try switching the cable around. It sounds dumb, but I was having a similar problem on other games, connection dropping out after attempting any action which would require an in-game 'sync' after moving house, & this simple fix solved the lot.

Hope this helps.

edit: by 'switch around' I mean simply take the end thats in your PS4 & insert into router & vice versa.

From the rest of us... welcome :) Glad you're all having fun and this really takes me back to when I was there. Enjoy the ride.

Wow, much progress... I just managed to do ~10ish delivery missions and get my filthy little paws on a cobra with d grade stuff.

Also, coming form a saitek hotas on pc, i was laughing at my own ineptitude when it comes to landing on ps4 pad (with 4 axis you can decide if u want yaw or lateral thrusters but not both :D)

me, on PC+hotas i was speeding and drifting into a station landing pads with an anaconda, taking at most 20 seconds from letterbox to clicking mission board. With playstation pad i am flying into the letterbox with a sidey and it feels "tight" :D

long story short - my biggest achievement after 5 hrs of playtime is ordering a thrustmaster hotas :D

Wow, OP is way ahead of me. I don't mind, because I don't want to "finish" the game in a week, LOL. Right now I'm hanging out at Lave doing the CG for fun and cash. My little Adder (which is my 1st and only buy) is well-fitted, but I think I'll be grabbing a Cobra soon for the cargo space. Once I can afford it, LOL.

Use a Powerline Adapter instead of WiFi if not direct by Lan.

Well someone's clearly been a busy little bee, congratulations!

I had big plans, get a type 6 rig up for some medium range passenger runs but as usual (have been playing on xbox) got distracted and my OCD kicked in so I had to A rate my winder, which slowed me down, and then hit a run of delivery missions where I just looked at the payout I didn't check that the destinations were way way out in system. Then obsessed over the default paint job for the type 6 and holo me's standard gimp suit so wasted I don't know how long trying to buy new stuff. So not quite where I was planning to be but, FD shop issues aside, had a lot of fun.

Sidewinder straight into a High RES, and nicked kills off the coppers -> basic Cobra MK3.
Back to RES, but pushing with more edgy killing -> upgrade Cobra.
Then did 300Ly to unlock Felicity and Elvira.
Sadly we then got a load of rat calls, so between launch and now done 9 rescues. Last night was a wipe earning money, one rescue was about an hour and a half I think, but you don't rat without expectations like that ;)

Currently in an A-rated Cobra MK3, except D Thrusters, 3A Powerplant (need 4A), no ADS (I really need to get cash for this next! :( ).

Then i'll fly that until I can either afford straight up a rat-capable DBX or AspX, or possibly engineer the Cobra instead, not decided yet.

Decent 24 hours but slower than I want.

Decided to do some space trucking :) had about 6 hours in total since launch and managed to rack up 2 million so far. Currently in a lakon type 6 which in all fairness might be a space brick but my god I can load upon those missions! Tonight I'm going to start making my way to Lave and make that my home base from where I can set out on my adventures. Love it!

I play Destiny a lot as well and that needs a constant connection and it works fine, same as the MMO's I play on the PS4. I will give it a try though but I doubt it is anything to do with my cable.

I started in a very focused way, doing what i knew would work and doing it quickly.

Got my Asp yesterday after 9-10 hours. Unlocked some engineers and rolled a DD1 for thrusters. Since then been winged with a newbie and changed pace from ludicrous to leisurely.

Having a blast now and it's the first time I've done multiplayer and mic chat and it's great!

I started out with Sidewinder like everyone else, did some delivery missions that netted good income, then switched to hauler so I can store more in my ship. Once I had enough money I bought the Type-6 and been using it ever since and love it. I have over 2 million now saved up. Met up with some fellow M.S.R pilots and we ventured out to our temporary "home" system until we find somewhere better. This work day is dragging because all I want to do is play some more lol
