Death By Bounty Hunter or Starvation
Ok, some pretty big changes today, what are players thoughts on the pros and cons? How will these changes effect the different professions? Is Death now stalking Pirates?
Traders,
While the Vulture will, without doubt, create a greater threat to trading in open, it is a ship without equal in what it does, and it does it at speed. Traders are at the core to the game, without them, there are no players to Pirate, and without Pirates there are no players to Bounty Hunt. That is 1 of Tradings strong points, they are reliant on nothing but the background sim. If the going gets too costly in open, they can move to group or solo. Regardess of these new changes, they will still haul their cargo from station to station, with a panoramic view of the stars as they go.
Bounty Hunter,
The increase in Bounty payouts is a great addition. Ive been having so much fun in the RES with my Vulture, the constant face ache from smiling is a testament to that, and i have to admit, ive been throwing the word 'Boss' around like its the 90's. but, now i can make even more money than i was before the patch
guess i'll have to throw a few 'yipi ki yays' into the mix. So Bounty Hunters have a better tool for the job, and a bigger incentive to hunt other players.. Bonus!
Explorers,
What a great change for better and worse..
Better - More money for the work you do, an addition to help compensate you for the extended time away from civilisation, those long lonely hours, days and weeks. Or just an added bonus for doing something you love in total peace and quiet
Worse - Having to carry that extra valuable data back into populated space with the risk interdiction, and now there may be multiple bogeys!! thats added pressure.
Pirates,
Aside from the reduced ship price, I'm thinking this patch helps you guys least of all? With greater scarcity in your food stock and the added value on your head, what will hit harder? A feeding frenzy from Bounty Hunters or starvation from a potential lack of Traders?
