A whole plethora of activities to do on rocks.
People are getting way ahead of themselves, IMO.

I'd like to the source code opened up so all the armchair programmers who seem to think they're so brilliant can show us how it's done.
Come on guys, start coding those procedural cities and planets. It's just a few lines and then off to the pub, hooray!

I too am not fussed about atmospheric flight. Mine's a spaceship. If I wanted to fly airplanes I'd have bought an airplane game. Still, if it ever rolls around, I shan't complain.
+1.
For example, I'd like to go out exploring again, but I feel I need a bit more than the odd fungal growth or geyser to entice me to explore planets and strange phenomenon. The ruins were a fantastic addition, but the chances of me finding anything like that on my own are pretty astronomical (pun intended).
Doing science and having more specialised exploration equipment might help make it a bit more interesting. There's only so many canyons and SRV jumps I can do before it gets samey. Not that I'm being negative at all, I totally love the game, but I think using Beyond to focus on gameplay mechanics is a wise move by Frontier, and sorely needed IMHO.
All that stuff would be great, but where do you think the 'more interesting stuff' is going to be found: on an airless rock or one with an atmosphere?

if the DEVs include some they wont tell you where anyway
