You know you have been playing too much ED when....

Hehe OK there have been threads oft this type before but I dont know if this is dangerous or cool.

I was driving down a highway in the middle of nowhere in the very early am with nothing but my headlights lighting the way As I came around a bend, I passed a small airport with its buildings lit up as a beacon in the surrounding blackness. As it slid by on my right I had to resist a strong urge to turn off the flight assist and slide buy it sideways admiring the view.
Everytime I dock, I always thrust towards the entrance then flick off the flight assist and spin 90 degrees so I am looking directly at the station as I drift by.
Serious I kept getting the same urge when I saw these bright lights off to my right. Almost an out of body experience.

You've been playing ED too much when driving your car feels like driving a Vulture and you start wondering where you can go to add hardpoints.

I'm convinced my driving style has changed since playing ED. Maybe I should start flying without shields to improve my road safety...

When your car has pop-up headlamps and you mutter to yourself "Hardpoints deployed..." ;)

Cheers,

Drew.

Your cruising down the road and try to add more power to engines and boost. Then you realize you have no weapons or shields :( Then you start thinking about how to add some weapons and shields :)

Went to the zoo with my wife and daughter a few weeks back. The first thing i do? Look for all the animals named after ships in the game!

.... When you create a thread called "You know you have been playing too much ED when...." for the umpteenth time :D <this means this is a joke, true, but a joke :)

when you start to build your own cockpit as I have done....
must have a actuall working space ship lol.

hotas, headtracking, roccat power grids(3),ed shipyard, thrudds trade tool, all these are built into a dash that houses my phones and tablets lol...
even made rudder pedals from a old Ferrari racing wheel set...
must have sidewinder radio playing aswell....

and if anyone is using a hotas and wants it to vibrate/force feedback(if your stick does that) then open up the calibration page in control panel for devices and run a test....just leave this open and go back to elite.

oh and voice attack lol.

every single part of my anatomy is being utilised in my ship......all about escaping the real world to me.

if the wife would let me I would make a replica cockpit of the cobra....to scale.

When you have to book in to see a sports physio to sort out a bit of RSI on your right forearm.

And no I am not just blaming Elite for some other reason :D

I didn't know here was a particular muscle used (and in my case over used) when operating the yaw on a Saitek joystick.

How can I fix it?

Professional advice was to rest the muscle for a few weeks, so that's easy, just don't play Elite?

Erm ... No ... just go Exploring. Genius!
