You Recommended Headphones for ED

Hello folks,
ED is sonically astounding through headphones but my cheapy Beats( possibly fakes) headphones have snapped and broke. They were better than my wireless Sennheisers (interference) and my missus" 100 quid wired "on ear" Bose (lacking in bass in game)

What are you using and what would you recommend for ED for around £50? Must be a wired set.

For the long time I was using Plantronics Gamescom 780 and they were fantastic.
Slightly over your budget, though.
Lately I was trying several different Corsairs and they seemed pretty nice, too.

I would recommend to go for something with a surround in any case. Makes a world of difference.

Personally got a logitech G930 wireless which is pretty much the opposite of what you want but I've honestly not found a better set for my personal preferences (too many lost to broken wires when I forget I'm wearing them and stand up) even if they are overpriced.

On your criteria something like the G230 which seems to have good reviews: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/logitech-g230-stereo-gaming-headset-black-red-with-microphone-usb
I've also heard good things about the Corsair equivalent although i've never had a corsair headset: https://www.scan.co.uk/products/corsair-gaming-cgh1500-dolby-71-usb-gaming-headset

Overall pick a good well known manufacturer like Logitech and usually you'll be good, although for touchy, feely, sound and stuff like that I'll generally visit a store where they have them available to try so I can decide before I plonk my money down...

I've been using Hyper X II's with 7.1 surround sound. They are wired and work awesome with Track IR. I move my head and sound shifts position. Also has a boom mike for in game communication and very well made. I've had them for about 1 year and use them every day 4-5 hrs with no problems. One of the best investments I've made for the game.

Whatever you do , dont buy Logitech.
I have got 2 pair of G 35 lying around with a broken hinge, that cant (acording to Logitech) be replaced..... Nice sound but crappy product.
I bought a Kingston Hyper X as replacement And they are very, very nice and sturdy.

Cheers Cmdr's

I have been using Logitech G633 for a while now and I would recommend it.
They have come down almost a 1/3rd in price lately so they aren't as awfully expensive nowadays.
Sometimes I even go to bed with them on and wake up with the cord tangled around my neck, choking me in my sleep.
Even though they tried to kill me a numerous times, I still haven't managed to break them.

I'm really liking these: http://www.amazon.com/Sentey-GS-473...=1460765571&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=senteyrches. Decent sound for $40 and includes a subwoofer (its advertised as a "vibration unit" but me and 3 other friends agree that we do hear more sound when we turn it on), great construction and it has one of those super comfy foating headband things, the mic souds great (according to friends) and it also comes with surround sound software. (although razers free surround sound sounds just as good, I have yet to hear anything better actually) Its wired like you wanted my only real complaint it the volume adjusted is bigger and heavier than it needs to be. If you want the best bang for your buck get this, but if great sound is what you are after then don't buy and "gaming" headset and invest in something that focuses on great sound. It also has actual around-the-ear sized cups if you don't like them touching your ears

I use a wireless pair of Logitech G930's, but the lower model should only be about 80$, have similar quality and be wired. (If I remember correctly, it converts to about 44pounds from CAD, so it's not bad at all) but if you want to spend the extra 8 pounds, the wireless pair works damn well too, my delay on audio is barely detectable for me, so it should be undetectable for the ears of normal human beings. (this being even when the dongle is 12 meters away, the max distance from my own experimentation)

Other than that, I can't say much. I only have real experience with wireless headphones as my cat likes to eat wires.

My exact headphones, had my set for years now with no issues. The replaceable cord means longer overall value as you can swap new ones in if the cord dies, plus your choice of straight or oldschool curlycord; my set came with one of each and only after some years of near-daily use and abuse did I need to swap to my second cord. Super super comfy even after long extended wear, and no crappy extra "consumer bass" addition muddying your sounds.

Grado sr60 or sr80 sound great for the money, I've used a pair of SR60s for several years and although I've thought about upgrading to a bit costlier pair of ATs, they just sound so good I've never gone through with it. Use the money you save to add a bass transducer to your and you're set.

The above suggestions are right on though, good products both of them.

I use the logitech 930. Wireless. They are great. I tend to leave them plug in but when you leave your ship computer. You can ear what happening around you.

Really appreciate all the replies CMDR's. I am veering towards all rounders ie a set that I can crash out the back with when the suns oot. (Scotland so that's measured in hours per year, not days!) AKG, audio-technica, Sennheisers appear to be getting mentioned a lot for decent sound even in their budgety ranges (hello)

Heading out to some actual shops to see if I can get a listen and try the fit and maybe grab a pair, FSD back for some rares smugglin' and feel the full roar of ones' engines again. Yaaaaas! \m/

Superlux HD 668B

The sound is incredible for the price range.
I second that recommendation.
They lack the brand name and some of the fancier features but soundwise they play in the 100 buck league. Favorably reviewed even in hifi enthusiast circles.

Personally I use a pair of sennheiser HD380, which are pretty awesome for games and movies, but comparing them to the superlux (friend of mine has those), they're pretty close and the superlux cost like 1/4.

Oh, and I'm not terribly convinced by the cheaper models of the big brands.
