You V The Weekend: Forum Ship of the Year 2017 pre-voting talks about how best to do it this year and other stuff too...

Welcome CMDR's,

Not my normal Friday thread this week as I want to discuss something rather important. Some of you may remember the series of threads/polls I ran last December to determine the forum ship of the year. Now I face a slight problem... No poll's, I do of course blame Tj for this although I may of had something to do with it what with all the not very sensible polls I put out.

What to do this year is the question?

I could set up a website with a poll on it but I would rather the traffic/topic be kept here, that would leave us with people having to actually reply as opposed to just voting. Would you be OK with this approach?

Secondly, I want to mix us the voting this year by having a vote on each type of ship instead of which ship maker as was done last year. Again do you like this idea or do you have a different system you think would work?

Feel free to put your ideas down here, even if you are a mod!

I'll be starting the voting from next Friday and figured it would be good to get some feedback from you, the potential voters before I begin.

Oh, and I hope you all have a great weekend too!


P.S. Ziggy, I've not been able to load the game at all this week so I am still 200+ jumps from Polo and as I'm off to Blackpool for a Christmas party this weekend I doubt I'll get any closer in t he next few days. :)

Yeah ... well, I was on my way to Polo, and then I spotted a Wolf-Rayet just 7000 LY away with a couple of planetary nebulae between them to check out. So ... I'm nowhere near myself. :)

Explorers .... just can't trust these people to keep focus.

No polls needed. The Cobra Mk III is the bestest ship.

The best ship in the game is the one the Player gets on best with. I do have a Cobra MkIII, and (for what it can do) it is a great ship. However, when I want to help new Players I find that my Anaconda is better. For exploring I prefer my Asp Explorer. However, every Player is different, and the ship I feel is right for the job in hand other Players may decide is terrible for their style of flying.

Love the AspX as it's such a great explorer, Like the Anaconda except when I'm leaving the station, Like to eagle for it's snugness and manoeuvrability.

But I'll always come back to my favourite the Cobra3 as it's the Cobra3,
