You want to reduce the number of heat sinks per laucher? what?

I just heard in the live stream they want to reduce the number of heat sinks per launcher to nerf silent running builds? seriously? It's 4 now, how low do you want to go?

This will also destroy most of the shielded SCB builds, thought about that?

Yeah, if you reduce the number of heat sinks per launcher from 4 to 3, almost all SCB builds will suffer a lot. My Corvette for example needs already 5 heat sink launchers because they have so low ammo, no space for wake scanners or whatnot. And Im talking about PvP builds that need several SCB banks at the same time.

It'll harm explorers who accidently get too close to stars as well, all for the sake of PVP.

Perhaps they should consider something for them to compensate for it? such as radiator modules which mount into the weapons slots so that they arent useful for combat builds?
 
Don't like the Idea. Granted I always take bunch of them out exploring and its always way more then I need but I feel better having way more then I need. Can't just go and restock after all.
 
Ah it was 3 before, it's a pullback from a previous buff, you'll get over it. (As someone who is currently 140 days into an exploration trip :D).

Does it really matter at this point? They are putting a rail gun mod in the game that will instantly collapse any shield while a SCB is winding up, the current state of affairs is going to be turned on its head and we have no idea how it's all going to work out. I'd say wait for beta but we know that'll be a disaster and 90% of the bugs/broken stuff we report will be ignored and pushed to live anyway.
 
Well, using this as a balancing factor and destroying all diversity by forcing you to equip HSL ONLY to all you utility slots is the worst idea I heard this year, even if some people here are making fun of the post... And the sooner FDev realises that, the better.

There are 1000 other ways, what about nerfing the HRP a bit again, and make them more linear so that a class 5 actually is much better than a class 4 etc. Then you can decide if you wanne use a more fragile hard-hitting silent runner or not... But NOT the number of heat sinks...
 
well, that might be true, but what if the engineers have recipes to INCREASE the number of charges? maybe for more power draw or something, but with the plethora of module recipes we will be hit by i'd say wait till beta hits, mayhem gets in full swing, and we will see :)

What Sleutelbos meant was wait until Beta for players to test things out before proclaiming things are bad.

If its generally accepted that the numbers are wrong FD will still be in a position to make further adjustments - that is what Beta is for.

Like the overpowered HRPs that are in the live game for 6 months until 2.1 comes out? I mean I get your point, but some of the obviously bad ideas need to be mentioned early and a lot in order to have any hope that they will fix it until release tbh...

They bascially said right now its not working as they wanted it, but it has stayed like that for months and months so...
