"...you'll be 'making tracks' while exploring planet surfaces in The Engineers."

I am sure this will make many people very happy indeed :D

From todays newsletter:
And finally in this week's double edition Peek of the Week, we're sure you'll be 'making tracks' while exploring planet surfaces in The Engineers.

Now we know why Todd McQuinn looks so grumpy. He's obviously been given the job of clearing away any such inappropriate tracks with his broom ;)

This feature was asked for on a poll and the result was the majority wanted tire tracks. So huehnerfaust your wrong in saying not a feature anyone asked for in fact it is one many did request. See:

It is a nice touch, not needed, not required, but is shows they want as much realism as possible and don't over looking the minor details at times. Please no one write then what about the broken this or that as a way of saying they over look the major for the minor. If you believe that your wrong.

I like the tracks, and while I didn't vote for them, I am glad they are going in. It actually would have been handy the other day while I was scouting I wanted a POI and traced my steps back to one I was at, the tracks would have let me be aware.

Well, I hope this will please a few forumers during an hour or two. I hope it didn't require more dev time to code though, because I don't see much potential to this in terms of gameplay. Definitely not a big change as far as I'm concerned.

Exactly. It is a minor graphical feature. The novelty will wear off pretty quickly. Or is anybody still as impressed with the hyperspace jump animation as people were when it was first introduced?
