Your client is too old - Please upgrade

I tried to play elite this morning and after logging in it tells me "Error 403 - Your Client is too old. Please upgrade to the latest version of elite dangerous".

The launcher does not offer me any upgrade. I am not using the Steam version.

How do I "upgrade the client"?

Me too - was fine earlier this week. No updates to the client are being downloaded so what's going on?

Steam is patching.

I had to download a new launcher from the FD website. The old one didn't update itself or offer the client upgrade.

I will answer my own question

I went into my Frontier account and downloaded an updated version of the launcher. After updating this it offered me the upgrade. Now working fine.

After all that they still have not fixed the bug where unmapped planets are showing up fully mapped at 0% [down]

That's only a small part of the problem, the other is getting the players to read said patch notes before jumping on DD and complaining ….​
