Your Distant Worlds 2 Ship

I thought it would be nice to have a compilation of the different ships and builds people are going to take on this long Journey.

I spent the last week working on my ship including a lot of engineering, gathering and trading some materials (also materials for synthesizing heatsinks, which are manufactured!), trying things like bashing against a station wall at different speeds to test shields and armour and things like that.

I ended up with a Krait Phantom. I didn't trade in much for more range and kept my 6A thrusters, but went with a Class 3A shield and downgraded powerplant and power distributor. Since I like convenience and a solid ship more than the best jump range ever achieved I also packed a few extras and kept a range of 57ly.

Apart from an AFMU I also packed:
Repair limpets, mining laser, abrasion blaster and pulse wave scanner to be able to repair myself and others in need and to support our miners with finding good rocks and chipping off ore.

The idea was, to be able to join as many different occupations as possible since we'll be away for quite some time.

Feel free to share how you prepared for the journey and add your ship's build if you like. It might also be a nice archive for exploration/deep space mining ship builds depending on how many people contribute. :)

Yeh gods! Are you lot still here. About time you all went and left us normal folk in the bubble to do our stuff without all you damn crazies in the way. Messing up our bgs with all your engineer shenanigans...

Although chances of me participating are next to 0 - I don't play on regular basis, very casual session here and there; I'm afraid I'd be left behind with no real chance to keep up - I can share my current ship. As of now I'm wandering bit aimlessly toward the Core in my Imperial Clipper.

Max range of above is 51.45 LYs, 3 jumps per fuel tank (16t) but scoop speed of 800 - 1000/s is enough to fill that 5t of used fuel while passing the star without even throttling down. Runs cool, doesn't exceed 65% heat while scooping.

What is missing: heat sinks. I made my share of exploration, beet to SagA* and back, made few shorter trips (tho 5 digit) and visited thousands of systems. I can count on a one hand situations I *could* use heat sink. Probably teasing my luck byt so far I didn't have the real need of having one. For extra safe than sorry - it's missing.

Apart from that, pretty good build. I could squeeze more out of it but don't have engineers unlocked, nor the mats for the rolls. For a limited resources and access I'm happy with the outcome. I need to read more about DW2 and think about if I can keep up. Maybe you'll see my ship among the fleet?
 
Just got back to the bubble last night after a trip to Beagle Point. You lot are free to depart now, the bubble is safe once more.
 
Krait MK2: The only engineering I have on this is what I could get done at Felicity.
SRV, SLF, AFMU(2), FSD booster: 52ly range.
