Your Famous Wing-man?

Brian Blessed once boxed the Dalai Lama. He let him win because he didn't want to hurt his feelings.

Brian Blessed once trekked to the North Pole. While he was there a Russian nuclear sub broke through the ice cap, so he decided to board the sub dressed as Santa Claus and give the sailors Christmas presents.

Brian Blessed once held Oliver Reed off the floor at arms length by the throat to persuade him to stop drinking on set. Oliver Reed stopped drinking on set. This is the only time Oliver Reed has ever stopped drinking for anything.

Brian Blessed has done a haka on top of Mount Everest. God was presumably too **** scared to reply.

The difference between Brian Blessed and Chuck Norris, the anecdotes about Brian Blessed are true.

You could go to the pub in Tangmere called 'The Bader Arms'. Seriously, it's called that.

Bader was Wing Commander there during WWII

Yup, he may have been a fairly horrible person personality-wise, and he was undeniably over-priveleged too, but there is no denying he was a great combat leader and a gutsy b*****d. So he'd certainly be useful to have on your wing when things got tough.

As a slight reversal to the question - to whom would you wish to be wingman?

We have this obsession that we're the centre of all things, it's not necessarily so.

Anyway, I'd opt for Albert Ball, seeing as another has already claimed The Red Baron.

I may be wrong ,but I heard Brian didnt actually make it.One of his companions was dying so he had the choice of carrying on to the summit or saving the mans life. He chose the later .....now that proves just what a bloke he is to have around .Caring to the end but dont mess or he'll rip your throat out and pee down your neck

Seeing as you have the cool INRA tech in the Picidae, I'll vote for you. I'll probably live longer. ;)

But all of it is about Not Being Seen and Running Away™.

Which is a tactic, I guess (if only there was a proverb about old pilots and bold pilots...)
