It's hard to say, I think my biggest priority at the moment would be walking around stations, visiting traders, bars, etc.

Ultimately, FPS combat, planetary surfaces etc. are of course more exciting, but for the moment I just want to walk around and OUT of my ship in stations

I find it interesting, that 'landing on rocks to be mined' has more votes than 'richly detailed planetary surfaces'.

Clearly the first is intended as a step towards the second by FD, but just because it'll come earlier calling it ones' favorite seems odd. ^^

Very true Helios. Patrick, what did you have in mind ? I voted for "richly detailed planetary surfaces" with the thought I could actually *land* and *explore* them. Did you just mean "fly and watch them" ? In which case I'd vote for ''landing on rocks to be mined".

I voted for the rich planetary surfaces but landing on asteroids etc is just as interesting.

Either way, it's the aspect of landings that attracts me more than FPS content. The Frontier games included it, so it would seem a very retrograde step for the most recent addition to the lineage to not include it.

The thought of FPS content is very exciting, and I hope this becomes reality, but it would always be a secondary preference in relation to planetary landing.

^ This, except perhaps the combat (I'm such a peaceful sort), and followed very closely by the same for planets. :D

But it will be many steps on the way, so I'll get whatever comes my way next.

I'm actually a bit worried by the FPS combat thing, because that feels like a different game altogether. And which already exists: Dust514 (to be replaced by Eve Legion eventually). The other ones seem to tie in better with the main attraction, i.e. single pilot in space. Too many secondary options just dilutes the population, which I don't see as a good thing.

Voted other - basically anything that enrichens the space experience. Player constructed space structures would be great for instance.

I'm definitely not interested in anything that involves walking or shooting whilst walking.

I would normally have voted for the planetary landings, either one of them. But for some reason the idea of big game hunting really appeals to me lol.

Voted other. ;)

Same for me. It's the landing and the atmospheric flight that intrigues me. First person action with my avatar might be cool, but it's nothing I would get closely as hyped up about as about landing on planets.

all expansions will add enormous amount of new game play elements that will be mixed between and that will be exciting :)

Personally, I'm not really interested in any 'on foot' expansions as I don't think Elite is, or needs to be, some sort of FPS.

Planetary landings generally are what I'm interesting in seeing to take me back to the greatness which was FE2, just updated. :)

At present, the situation is reversed. 40% for "Accessing richly detailed planetary surfaces" against 30% for "landing on rocks to be mined"

:)

I would hope the 'airless moons' thing is just a waypoint en route to the full rich planetary thing. In fact, they all probably are just phases of the same ultimate goal.

As long as they do it *properly*, they can take their time on all of them. Planets don't have to be full of intrigue and starports necessarily, just make them believable, rich, different and immersive.

That is exactly what DB was saying -- the first step towards those planets where he wants to go big game hunting. :D Possibly in one of those videos from E3 (watched it on YT).

Exactly, and that is why they want to take their time -- to do it right. And I believe they can do just that.
