Your favorite smuggling sled

Dear Smuggly bretheren and sisteren,

I'm just about up to being able to afford my Vulture, but I'm looking forward to smuggling support weapons to slaves in the Imperium. I have a Viper, and it's gotten me thinking about smuggling ships.

I recall reading somewhere (on the official site, perhaps) that smaller ships are good for smuggling because they are, by nature of their size, somewhat stealthy. True or no, I was wondering about the practicality turning my Viper into a dedicated Smuggler. Heck, I was wondering if you could make any reasonable profits in a stripped out smuggling Eagle. Sounds like it could be a hoot.

I'd love to hear thoughts from the more sneaky commanders out there.

Out of all the small ships, my favorite smuggler is the Adder. Great speed, maneuverability, more than enough cargo for smuggling, and good jump range for the price.

Agreed, although, if don't mind putting some money out, the Courier makes for an awesome smuggler. I had a type 6 for trading, but got rid of it, but if you take off the guns and put on some shields and buff the armor, I believe it would make a good smuggler as well, though it does tend to fly like a brick, so your skills as a pilot better be top notch, cause I doubt you'll be very successful at sneaking into the spaceports, which only leaves the full throttle method. :)

Most of my smuggling was done in the Asp it was just small enough to fly under the radar and most of the time I wouldn't start getting scanned till I was just about to enter the mail slot which only required a full throttle entrance to escape the scan plus decent stopping power if you try to boost into the station level out with the back and fire the vertical Thrusters it would stop pretty quick in the middle possibly kiss the edge if going in full blast

Love my asp. Dbx is good for heat management (im told)Get that cockpit nice and frosty. Drop a chaff if they start a scan. Any ship you can thread the needle with you can smuggle with. The bulkier the more likely to dock smear.
P.s. That wave indicator above your fuel gauge is your heat output. Thin line=low output.

Does the whole dropping chaff thing work to obstruct scans? If so I'm installing a launcher immediately lol

I smuggle in my Clipper...... nothing like hearing the sound of 240 Tons of Imperial Slaves clearing the black market..... Clipper is large yes but the thing handles like a corvette... Love it

It is indeed a set ship I just stop at too many outposts so the Python is my end all ship not gonna buy any other except possibly an Anaconda but it's just so expensive it doesn't seem worth it
