If I'm exploring in or near the Bubble I'll just leave the in-game music on. Otherwise I have an iPod with just under 4,000 tracks on it I'll listen to. Mostly metal or alternative/alternative rock.

I shared my (partial) playlist here previously, but figured I'd throw some names on here as well:

Artists:
Aes Dana, Alex Doan, Ascendant, Astral Tides, Astronaut Ape, Astropilot, Asura, Aythar (Astronautica), Bourguisie (Space Tapes & Vice), C J Catalyzer, Caberi, Chronos, Code Elecktro, Cosmic Replicant, Cubering, Dance with the Dead, Daniel Deluxe, Droid Bishop, Dynatron, Eguana, E-Mantra, The Enigma TNG, Erik Seifert (Core), FM-84, Gaiana, HUVA Network, Hybrid, Kaiax, Khetzel, Lazerhawk, Le Matos, Magic Sword, Makeup and Vanity Set, The Midnight, Miroir, Mitch Murder, Moonbooter, Mrm Team, Nigel Stanford, Nightstop, NINA (Beyond Memory), Northern Lights, OGRE Sound, Perturbator, Ra, S1gns of L1fe, Sasha Malkovitch, Scandroid, Scann-Tec, Shio-Z, Side Liner, Slicarus, Solar Fields, Sonic Mayhem, A Space Love Adventure, Stefan Torto, Stellardrone, Stilz, Subream, Suduaya, Sundial Aeon, Sung, Tangerine Dream, Tentura, Timecop1983, Tonebox, Vibrasphere, Vicebot (Voyage), Vogel (Hologram), Volkor X, Waveshaper, Wolf and Raven (Ace of Space), Zero Cult

Compilations:
DJ Zen series, Fahrenheit Project series, Floating Spirals series, Microcosmos Flashbacks, etc..

... and many more in the form of individual tracks, singles, and compilations with fairly generic names.

I don't include everything from those artists or compilations, of course. And some more than others.

I have 2 new (to me) discoveries, both on Bandcamp.

First band, Cosmic Ground, already the name is telling you they fit. Electronic, laid back, ambient but has a tune. Very nice.

Second up is for those who like it a bit heavier, guitars, some sax, very nice, not throat bleeding deathhore, just a good bit of prog rock.

You can listen to the tracks on Bandcamp for free but not endlessly.

Usually for me it's Klaus Schulze, State Azure or T.Dream to add to the atmosphere (pun intended). At the moment I'm halfway to Colonia & to break the insane monotony I've got S.O.A.D., Rush, Maiden & Slipknot on rotation, but tonight I'm planning on 3hrs of Greenslade, tomorrow may be Beethoven, Ted Nugent or The Mahavishnu Orchestra, who knows. Thing is, on my ship I can play whatever I want to, there's no one else to tell me otherwise, apart from the voices in my head.

As the title says. if you don't watch TV or listen to the in-game music, what bands or types of music do you listen to?

I'll start

I really enjoy "The Midnight" they have a good pace and a great electronic sound that keeps me motivated when discoveries are slim and far between.

I didnt know there is a music in ED... But your selection is awesome... Although I am a rock and metal person, I do enjoy 80s in any form... Thank you! :)
