I noticed Klaus Doldinger in your list.

I recommend his Jazz Rock albums from his group "Passport".

Excellent music tracks in these albums.

Yes, I know he's not only a composer of film music, but also an excellent jazz musician and if you had a close look at my list you might have noticed that I like jazz (and wonder how it is possible that there are actually people who don't).

BTW here are some more soundtracks I forgot to mention (I went through my collection):

Der Kalte Finger - B Zet & Sven Väth
(Also works very nice with ED. Just recently I was sitting in the cockpit of my AspX looking at the milky way and playing 'Scotty's Arrival' in the background - that's the track beginning at 19:00.)

Lola rennt - Johnny Klimek, Reinhold Heil, Tom Tykwer
(If that music doesn't make you want to run you most likely have no legs. Excellent for cardio training.
EDIT: Warning: Be careful if you play it on your car stereo, because it also makes speeding unavoidable.)

Birdy - Peter Gabriel
(Already a classic that definintly must not be forgotten in any halfway serious collection of great movie soundtracks)

Here's a brilliant soundtrack - Moon by Clint Mansell.

Totally agree and wondering how I could forget it. I guess you also know this one:

EDIT:
One more thing, just in case you haven't noticed: if the tracks are part of a playlist I also added the link to it, so you can listen to the complete soundtrack.

Of course you have to be a fan of Daft Punk or that style of music but the Tron Legacy sound track was pretty great. I listen to the remix version all the time at work.

Fan here, but then thats sorta the theme of what makes up the bulk of my music collection...Im a lifelong fan of house and electronica. A love that started out with the likes of Jan Hammer and Jean Michel Jarre in the mid to late 80s, along with slightly more conventional artists like Prince and INXS cos Im always drawn to odd things.

So many to choose from but I have a real soft spot fer the theme music to a number of different movies, along with the movies themselves. Best movie of all time no hesitation whatsoever...Shawshank Redemption. Even though normally Im a sucker fer anything sci fi especially the Transformers which was cool I was a fan back in the 80s too, still have the very first issue magazine is a sealed envelope, not a mark on it. So ye, the movies arent being true to the original storylines, but the reimagining has created a new generation of fans, and like the original Star Trek fans, I had to accept that. As it turned out, I actually like the current direction its going in now, so win win.

Only movie Ive ever watched more than ten times...The Matrix.

Only movie that ever made me cry in front of someone...Gladiator...the theme music I still have in my collection to this day and listen to it during rush hour traffic (I have twin 800w subs and lots of amps shopping is a pain really and other drivers hate me with good reason) I like it loud...helps me to focus. At home, its a good set of cans cos anti social behaviour isnt tolerated on my estate.

All time favourite tv boxset...Hustle...the original BBC version. I actually really identified with one of the characters to the point my wife at the time used it as my new nickname as a joke...it was one the better years a good vintage as they say. First rule of the con...cant cheat an honest man, never been done cant be done.

Favourite between Marvel and DC...while I do love DC grittier and darker approach, Im also a huge Hulk fan so Marvel all the way fer me. Marvel is more about escapism sci fi fantasy feel good sorta vibe which ticks more boxes than DC somewhat darker undertones are always entertaining, but ye...dont make me angry over this...

Favourite soap...Im a bit of an Emmerdale fan and used to love Eastenders, but not so much past few years.

Favourite car...Alfa Romeo...life is too short to drive boring cars...nuff said.

Im loathe to so much as mention my favorite ¨pain relief¨ considering its being legalized fer medicinal use here in the UK recently...Im a member of a group who has been campaigning hard fer just such a thing fer over a decade, its a massive win fer me personally as I live with multiple sclerosis, so to hell with it. I have real soft spot fer cheese strains simply cos its the best at pain relief and at relaxing the mind. Best of both worlds I suppose why have cotton when ye can have silk mentality. What I do still wont be strictly legal...but it is less illegal and thats enough fer now if ye understand what I mean.

Favourite game...Freelancer...the only game I loved enough to be an admin on...oh how I miss the satisfaction of faceplanting someone an instant kill in a joust with a pair of del cids and sunslayers just as they loaded into the system. The guy who owned the server liked to give troublemakers a taste of their own medicine as a warning instead of just kicking them out...he was even more twisted than me but a brilliant coder.

Anyway...thats it from me cos Im rambling again and I wanna play NMS a bit...sorry frontier make Q4 a good one ^

Transformers which was cool I was a fan back in the 80s too, still have the very first issue magazine is a sealed envelope, not a mark on it.

Are you talking about the first issue of the Transformers comic because I have one of those too. [up] I also have the original Soundwave and Grimlock toys I got when I was a kid (I'm 42 now). They're in one piece but a little rough.

Forgot about Gladiator. Great movie and great sound track.

Somebody already mentioned Aliens so I'll add another James Horner classic....Titanic.

There are many on here I like already. I think nobody has mentioned this one though which is one of my favourites:

The Thing - Ennio Morricone
