Your Starting System?

I started there too, it's really desolate out there... I restarted in a new zone.

Really?

I started there too, and in a few hours playing the straight trader (1 bounty kill) I'm driving a Hauler and am most of the way to buying a Cobra...I ain't even left the system yet.

There are multiple orbitals and stations, 2 major Ag worlds and 2 industrial worlds, marine supplies sell well on the Ag worlds @ 995 C profit per unit, and animal meat sells for 600 C profit per unit, not bad for never leaving the system. Fuel costs are inconsequential as a result.

Granted, it's kinda boring, but it builds up rep and that's beginning to look a lot more important than is was in earlier iterations.

Once I get a Cobra and equip it the way I want, I'm off for the Far Reaches for exploring and mining goodness, though.:D

COSI

Started in COSI

Pros:
Lots of refinery systems around all exporting Gold and Palladium
Lots of High Population Systems (greater than 4 billion)
some easy in system trading due to large populations (dual economies)

Cons:
sadly not many High Tech Systems
hard to find a FSD upgrade
Not many systems around importing Gold and Palladium : <

Started in Cosi too, not the best place for making money. Been busy exploring and allowing myself to be interdicted.

Where you been in system trading?

I started in LHS 1914. My Freagle was in Cosi ~43Ly away. I got to LHS 1794 when I heard about the Freagle location bug. I was concentrating on travelling, not trading, so by that time I'd only earned about 20000Cr on courier missions. When I got to Breksta I found the jump to Amait just a bit too far for my unimproved Sidewinder. Selling off the lasers, scanner and cargo hold improved the range for that jump.

I finally made it to Cosi and the first thing I did was sell the Eagle! I probably would have made more money ignoring it and just doing missions. It was probably more fun, though. Now looking for a Hauler to spend my 80000Cr on...

Bose Station for me too, in the LTT 15449 System.
Nobody seemed to want to trust me enough to give out BB missions, but I did manage to raise a couple of grand collecting system data.
It's a start.

Same here - feels kinda like home already :)

I think it was 'Bose' or something..went to 3 other systems looking for bulletin board missions, nothings available :-S

I started off in Bose too. No shortage of missions when I was there. About an hour in and I'm about 30k up, plus a bunch of unexplored locations.

Some system near Cosi. Can't remember the name, but it seems rather remote. ~76 ly from Earth. I did run into a few other commanders already, however.

i too started in Cosi... and those who say its not a good money maker... head out to the VERY next system over.. it starts with a "S"... they NEED gold and silver... and they have Class "A" FSD's and Class "A" power plants.... i played several hours last night and now have a semi-tweaked out Cobra thats closing in on a million credits in worth and have almost enough to outright buy a type 6 to add to the fleet.

Cosi to ( what ever its called , starts with a "S") with a cobra (40 tons) of gold.. 52k credits one way profit although the return trip is just 15k profit. but it adds up fast

if you delete your save game you start in a random system but you will have you other free ship every time docked close i sold my eagle for 40,000 cr

LT15449 for me too. It looked fantastic for trading - as someone else says there are multiple stations and worlds of different economies in the same system, which at first I couldn't quite believe. However for me my game kept crashing in that system whenever I tried to jump in-system. So I got out and went for a wander and am now in alliance space having found a lovely little set of systems with some very interesting features! Game still crashes a lot for me though at the moment. Roll on Gamma 1.01.

A little place called Aiabiko, population 7.6 billion, 70.01 ly from Eranin. A lot of other cmdrs seemed to spawn here too, so much so that it was totally useless attempting to dock at any platform within a few jumps of Aiabiko.

Me too. Certainly crowded round here. The next system only has one outpost (Hui Mines) which seems to have an endless queue waiting to dock!
