Your TOP 3 wish-list items for the Elite...

If this game didn’t change from today, id still play it almost every day. The fact that so much is coming down the pipe line is awesome, as is the life that is in this community.
There are endless threads on DLCs and future updates/fixes and content. I’m wondering what your TOP desire for possible future content is….
Mine are, at the moment:
1- 1 - Ability to walk around, explore, decorate/customize your ship.

2- 2 - Ability to rent a personal hanger at your favorite station to display/store your ships, walk around, explore/customize your hanger

3- 3 - David Braben bobblehead

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
1) More attention to story/lore/missions - basically greater role playing for us solo types
2) Action both within and outside of your ship. Walking around, etc.
3) Career balancing & progression overhaul to reduce the grind factor in gaining money/ranks/ships.

1- Player Minor Faction missions, using the existing system but allows you to add flavor text and some control over the objectives
2- Moar Ships!
3- a pony (that's for my niece, she wants a pony)

#1 - Underwater exploration! I'd love a fancy submersible version of the Asp to check out all those water worlds.

#2 - More reasons to advance in the auxiliary navies other than having new ships to play with.

#3 - An Engineer that can put sharks with laser beams attached to their heads on my Sidewinder. :) Failing that, a shark paint job will do.

1) Abandon p2p
2) balance careers
3) Re do power play
4) Add in game groups/clans for players to create and join with communication system for players in group and clan tags etc.
5) Add bounty hunting to game (we already have bounty farming)
6) re do military ranking
7) Damage model for ships (No hit points, use damage model from War thunder as example)

Reactions: mmm
1)NPC crew --- I would love to see this drive the first. I will be happy if I can just have another person in the chair across from me... maybe he could just give me a thumbs up every now and then.
2)story driven missions
3)my own base in an asteroid---- small but there.

1) Get PvP bounty hunting / piracy back on track.

2) AI improvements so an Elite NPC would be as challenging as a skilled player. Also, get once in a while access to an epic mission, procedurally generated.

3) Get Power Play back on track to favor PvP and replace the merit grind by something challenging.

But hey, it's well known that FD does not like to focus their updates on something belonging to the past. So let's invest some time and implement instead some "revolutionary" content which will end up "meh" / "dead" like Power Play and CQC.

1) Customizable paint jobs
2) Other advanced civilizations
3) Either a deeper mission system or walking around your own ship, not sure

1) Ship transfers (of course requires NO cargo on board)

2) Buff FGS and Python manueverability from a useless dreg of 2 to at least 4

3) Bring Piracy / Galactic Mafia to a state of respectable power and ranking and all the bells and whistles that would suppport that. IE Admiral equates to Don status etc

3B legalize saving life pods in space rather than only on planets requiring that yukky dune buggy mechanic

3C----give PVP a separate server / rageground entirely

Top three, eh?

1. all worlds landable (except gas giants of course)
2. exploration missions
3. alien races out in the galaxy (Thargoids, The Missing, etc)

1: Offline single player mode put back into the game
2: Planetary Mining
3: Ian Bell to get involved in ED design and future plans

1: Full MP anti cheat system with enforced bans for cheaters.
2: More incorporation of external apps into the game, Examples:- EDSM (explorer module), EDMC + EDDB (Trade computer).
3: Ironman mode with server, as new Cmdr.

1. Radio comms that doesn't distort voices

2. Superfast Supercruise

3. A justice system that doesn't encourage people to switch off their games and go and do something else for a couple of days while they are waiting for their bounties to disappear

1) Better persistence between your actions and the game
2) Legitimise piracy as a role
3) Better social tools and MP options

(1) Persistence
The game lacks pretty much any persistence.

  • If you go to a RES site and farm 10,000 criminals they are still going to respawn and gleefully arrive to be destroyed. Why, as you hand in your bounty chits, does the BGS not take notice & reduce the number of them spawning next game tick ? Or even if you go on a wanton killing spree there does the game not notice and start to send more police patrols ?
  • If you act like a criminal and kill everything in sight why do the NPCs simply turn red / hostile but still allow you to dock at the station to refuel, rearm, only to set off again to murder their kind once more ?
  • If you're mining an asteroid belt and repeatedly bring in the same minerals why doesn't the BGS take notice of this and dramatically drop the demand or price over time ?
  • Why are all commodities artificially clamped between a set range ? Set them free !! I remember during the KS DBOBE mentioned that people would be able to find rare opportunities to cash in on - so where are they? Starving planets, for example, need food - the state only lasts a relatively short amount of time so during this period why isn't the price of food 10x or even 100x the usual price?
  • When you are sent on a kill mission, regardless whether you succeed or fail why doesn't the BGS take notice and address you about this ? Say you kill Pirate Lord X of Faction Y - why doesn't then Faction Y come looking for you later ? Why at a later stage does the BGS not send you on more kill missions for Faction Y, reminding you that you did a great job last time taking out Pirate Lord X ?T
  • The list goes on ...

(2) Legitimise Piracy

  • Piracy is a legitimate activity within the game but many people simply see the act of firing upon someone else as "griefing". This could be mitigated somewhat by legitimising piracy as a role with strict rules governing it. During the DDF FD introduced the "hoist the flag" mechanism - a means to inform the game and your prey (PC or NPC) that you intended to pirate them. If they surrendered then there would be an exchange of goods and off you went, with the net result being your piracy rating went up. Blowing up a surrendered ship dropped your rating. This single fact alone of giving the victim the option to decide their outcome empowers them as they know if the pirate (PC or NPC) breaks their word it hurts them. Give piracy a rating; introduce surrender mechanics; beef up C&P (coming in 2.1 alledgedly) and distinguish between real pirates & murderers.
  • Whilst on the subject of piracy why are restricted / illegal goods not worth 10-100x their value on the black market ? (Give smugglers some love and not just via the cheesy missions that are available !!) Why in fact does the black market just look like a place holder ? Develop it more so that those who seek the piracy role have some place to trade. Yes, in general you take a hit to your income but it raises your piracy rating at the same time.

(3) Comms & MP options

  • This is a 2016 MMO style game, not a 1984 Bulletin Board game, so give the players the tools they need to socialise. It's a great way of bringing the wider community together (those who don't frequent forums) and allows people to form bonds which keep them playing in the game. Introduce an IRC style relay server; set up some specific channels (Federation / Empire / Alliance / One each for the powers); give them options (swear word filter / mute people / report) and allow the players to opt-in whilst docked to connect to the system. Docked at a Fed station - enrol them to the Federation channel. Member of Hudson ? Enrol them to that also. That way you can introduce yourself to new players, talk about things in game, set up alliances, and before you know it people will feel like the game is alive !
  • Couple that with harder missions - ones that you could do solo but are designed for a wing. Grant players the ability to share missions which would complement the comms system. Before you know it groups of random players will get together to take on some new content within ED, all the time knowing that someone might be listening in on their plans ;)

1) Better group management tools, including ability to specify PvE only (enforced). Either that or an Open PvE mode.

2) Beluga with passenger missions.

3) Redo powerplay - tie powers to a minor faction so there is a stronger connect between them. Powerplay missions instead of same tasks you need to do all the time to help them, and simpify the whole powerplay mathmagics to something us low IQ types can get our heads around.
