Your Top 5 (and only 5) Wishes and/or Fixes for the game

It is quite evident that there are a lot of dissatisfied Commanders here, the negative posts far outnumber the positive ones. But a lot of the complaints are diverse which got me thinking, what are your Top 5 Wishes or Fixes for the game. Lets try to keep it to 5 in each post, preferably with Number #1 the most important to you, Number $2 the next important and so forth. No need to explain why or suggest fixes, just list the handful of things you want in the game, whether it be something new, something that has already been proposed or something fixed.

To start it off, here are mine:


  1. Better and diverse missions that are more tailored to the Commander's playing history.
  2. Atmospheric Landings
  3. The ability to try out a ship, even fit it with (in-engineered) modules BEFORE you buy it.
  4. In game tools, i.e. tools like Inara etc. that are part of the game, you shouldn't have to Alt-Tab or use another computer to play the game!
  5. In game wiki, where Commander's can add comments and FDev can actually EXPLAIN how some aspects of the game works. Again, it should be part of the game, not something a Commander has to google or ask on here.

Looking forward to finding out what others want in the game.
 
removal of the USS mechanic and replace with gameplay.

Missions that seem to feed into an overarching story.

Player agency in the game world (I want to offer missions, set up a mining corp, tourism company etc).

powerplay/faction revamp to provide meaningful pvp interaction.

revamp of cz less turkey shoots more station attacks base attacks/defence missions with meaningful endpoints.
 
If they aren't going to expand Arena to include racing then could they give us those powerup rings they have there? Have them modified to show the people who flew through them, and in what order. Or they don't even need to do that if the powerup is one which makes it clearly visible who was the first person to fly through it.
 
All game features properly intercatin with each other, so that mining, trading and true economy affect Powerplay and Systems a lot more.

Consistency in aquiring materials, not this rubbish randomness.

Multi crew become a proper feature, but this would require multi fighter deloyment, multi srv deployment and much more creation for other game features to make multicrew work for mining etc.

1/ landing on all bodies
2/ space legs for the tea machine in my ship (and EVA purpose)
3/ space arms (to grab the cup of tea)
4/ more planetary vehicles
5/ dashboard kettle (in case we do not make it to space legs)
 
Yes, I've got still some wishes, even if ED gets better every release Here are my top few:

1 Atmospheric landings (maybe restricted due to G-force, Temp, Preasure)
2 Ships (much helps much :) ) I'd love some Manufacturer lineup completion (e. g.: Saud Kruger has nothing to fight, or no real cargo haulers)
3 make the BGS more visible. NPCs flying from A to B (to C, etc.) running cargo based on BGS status
4 believable and reasonable Cost and Profits from Trading, Fighting and Missioning. I am clearly make my profits from this but road to riches has become a no-brainer and that's a little sad
5 NPC wing men to hire for tasks.

1. Remove Wing Missions from the main Mission menu and give them their own section. There are far to many of them in the main mission board.
2. Give Normal Solo Missions the rewards which only Wing missions seem to be getting (High Grade Mats and Data). (Give ALL missions a revamped payout increase in Cr and Material rewards)
3. Powerplay....... Is just silly at the moment, when it could be Sooooooo Good for the Game
4. Sort out the excuse that is Crime and Punishment. Personally i'd ditch it and start again, rather than try tweak what is a joke at the moment
5. Stop with the recurring Bugs. Every update creates more and more silly bugs, a lot of them where repoted during Beta, some more are the same as bugs that appeared after the last big update, got fixed, and now are broken again?

Removal of rng from engineering

Deployable mining rigs which gather resource even whilst you are offline. Planet and asteroid.

Amalgamate all sensors, scanners, docking aids into one upgradeable unit.

Introduce properly scripted missions, no rng element.

More fire buttons.
 
1. Combat zones around actual strategic targets. If there is a war going on and a station/outpost could be won or lost in the outcome ... then there should be combat ongoing at or near that facility.
2. Interesting puzzles to goad explorers into finding interesting things. Imagine receiving a Arecibo-like message and using it locate a now long-deceased civilization somewhere on the edge of the galaxy.
3. Coils of wire around the equator of the planet Lucifer in the Sirius system to reflect the description of the planet from the Gazetteer in Frontier: Elite II.
4. A unified Discovery Scanner/Detailed Surface Scanner because it makes no sense why I have to use two #2 slots to fit these size #1 modules.

It could be anything with imagination... even a Jameson 18-Year-Old Limited Reserve whiskey

1) More SRV types
2) Wormholes (one-way) that can throw you to the other side of the known galaxy
3) NPC radio chatter instead of text for immersion purposes
4) Visual cloaking device
5) A market where you can buy PP exclusive items at an increased cost (maybe purchase through the black market). This allows you to pledge for who you agree with, not just whoever has what item you need at the time.

2. Large and huge Pack-Hound [heart]
3. A rework on some parts of the Cutter's shipkit
4. Notoriety being tied to the faction with which we are wanted
5. New planetary vehicles
 
1) Persistent NPCs - I realise this is not easy, as it requires FDev to commit to server resources. But then we could have proper vendettas, much more inventive missions, and more consistent gameplay
2) NPCs being viable multi-crew & wing members [in fact essential for multi-crew ships] easily being able to be replaced by real players
3) Fight ratings not based on kills, but on whether the fight was won [so a running away player, or NPC could still give you the rating]; this would be balanced with murder being even more penal. Murder should be the really last resort even for the criminal classes
4) Removal of solo and private modes
5) Removal of community goals, to be replaced with other group game mechanics that do not advertise to all players, but particular factions/powers or groups thus creating differing mix of players and not over-crowding any one event

Here here! I'd love to kill an NPC named "James Jones" and then, a few days later, find myself facing "Mary Jones, Doug Jones and Steve Jones" with messages of rage for having killed their father/brother or something.

Don't agree with that. What I would recommend in place of your suggestion is that each mode has it's own universe as to not interfere with each other. (i.e PP and market) I find it funny how I can join a PP faction and single-handed screw with a system uncontested. If I did that in open, I would have players coming in to kill me and stop me.
