Your Wish List for 1.4

A guy can dream.

- tradable star data between other commanders

- storing modules in cargo space

- keybindings for shield and thrusters modules toggle on/off

- a 3rd action group for weapons

- increased value for stolen goods on the black market

- harsher punishments for murdering commanders

- speed increase for the Eagle (this thing should be the fastest ship for it's lack of defense)

- ability to transfer credits to other players

- actual pilot showing in the ship's cockpit in 3rd person

- ability to bookmark star systems without using sidewinders

- ability to keep a record of where you have been in the galaxy (galaxy map filter?)

- ability to scroll up/down through notification log in upper right

- ability to filter contact types in scanner display (player / non-player / hardpoints active, etc.)


That's all I can think of right now.
 
To be honest that sounds more like a 1.3.1 suggestion. Mainly small additions rather than big new features you'd expect from a major point release.

They are also all good suggestions :)
 
Consequences for murder.
Penalties for combat logging.
Persistent level 2 NPCs.
The transponder so if we wish we do not appear as PCs for murderers to target.
More stuff for explorers, especially route finding and dark systems - though they may have already painted us into corners with the placeholders that are in place.
More ships (especially a specialist explorer ship better than the asp).
An effective means to block other players from your instance, so they can only gank you once.
Route plotting that is filtering aware.
 
Just one simple feature: ability to save route you're travelling to in your map. It's not always possible to complete the 1000LYs trip you've mapped, but when you exit the game you can't continue your journey and need to remap it.

2nded: As loosing the route on log off is a pain for even short trips, let alone the longer ones stated above.

- Infinite Steam keys

- Offline mode with every copy of the game hand delivered by Braben

- Total withdrawal of all so-called "limited" paint jobs and the execution of the artist so they can never make any additional so-called "limited paint jobs ever again ever
 
i want somethng im still wondering it does NOT EXIST:

WHERE THE HECK IS THE DAMN CAPTAINS LOG?! which does include:
where did i jump to when
what station did i land on when
what fight did i fight to whom and when
when i was attacked and by whom
where did i buy my ship and when
where did i buy outfit for my ship and when
this LOG must be searchable and sortable.

have u EVER seen ANY (star)SHIP without a damn log or manifest?!

THAT IS SOMEHTING WE NEED. as good those community contributions are (external websites) or some smartphone apps and such. such belongs INTO the game and full intigrated.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the next major update will cost money (for those without the Expansion Pass).

Summer is around the corner, and the release version of Elite: Dangrous for Xbox One might indicate the cut off point for "free" content.

I hope I'm wrong as I don't feel the base game is quite there yet.

Anyway, the big ones I would like to see in a hypothetical 1.4 release...

- Hireable NPC Wings
- NPC crews (not necessarily rendered but their benefits can be appreciated)
- The other free ship for backers
- Point and jump capability (just point a direction and go to the nearest star along that trajectory)
- Micro-jumps between stars within system (I know MB is no fan of this but others on the dev team want it)
- Roaming, dockable cap ships (flying my Vulture to a conflict is a PITA, would be great if I could dock with a cap ship on its way and undock once it arrives to the conflict zone)
- Asteroid bases
- Further station variety
- Planet to station NPC traffic
- Special docks and/or commerce around stations
- Improved social functions...browsing groups through categories and features, group chat with more people (outside of wings), and greater ability to "fly your colors"
- Planets that don't just pop-in
- Exploration outposts - stations 100s of light years from populated space
- Better support for multiple peripherals (I should be able to plug in a gamepad when I feel like it and not need to restart)
- Better support for multiple controller profiles (I really shouldn't be getting into game folders and copying/renaming bindings for each of my controllers and play styles...profile for trading vs profile for combat)
- Internal notes system
- Bookmarked systems
- Route planning down to the individual station
- A supercruise autopilot that explodes with the force of 100,000 megatons when activated
