Youtubers Podcast Sunday - Post your topics here

Listened to the show and enjoyed it. Hope you will do more of them in the future. Feel sure you will home in a structure that works. Maybe a Chairperson very hard when you cannot see each other to talk over someone else accidently. Good show though. [smile]

That's a good listen, very interesting. Missed the live broadcast, doh - but it's already on VJ's youtube.

Was a great stream and I hope to see more. One suggestion, though. I couldn't help but notice that everyone kept talking over each other, both accidentally and on purpose.

I couldnt leave a proper message after the podcast as it was past 1am here when we finished up, but I wanted to share with everyone my thoughts of the podcast.

First of all I cant thank Obsidian, Chaos, Troa, Kornelius and Dr Kaii enough. They were extremely generous to donate their time and energy to this podcast, especially since it went for so long. It was a lot of fun talking with the guys, and I can honestly say, hand on heart that there is no pretense with these guys, who they are on air and in videos, is who they really are like in person. It was a pure joy talking with them, and I cant wait to do it again.

As for myself, I screwed up a few times in the stream and may have come across a bit distracted sometimes as I had a bit of a hard time managing my upload speeds and correcting small problems such as volume. So sorry about that, but I think for my first effort it turned out pretty well. Moving forwards, I will learn and adapt and polish these events a little more. And yes, there is certainly going to be more. It may not always be the same people every time, but I am hoping to make this a regularly scheduled event.

As some people have pointed out, there was a bit of talking over each other and a pretty loose format. But to be honest, for our first outing, we just wanted to keep it simple and just treat it like one big chat, as none of us have really done anything like this before. As time moves on, things may evolve and change, and we will try and match the expectations of the community.

To those who felt like we were bashing Elite Dangerous, I cant even begin to stress that our comments were purely meant as constructive criticism. We genuinely love this game, yes even Kornelius XD.. I think some people may have misinterpreted some comments as being negative. and I guess that boils down a lot to our passionate personalities, and wanting to make the game even better than what it is. Elite Dangerous isnt perfect, and I dont think pointing out certain problems within the game should be considered negative. We ALL want this game to grow and get better.

Lastly, but certainly not least, I want to thank everyone who came along and listened to us idiots prattle on for 2 hours. Seriously, without you guys, the podcast would be NOTHING. We peaked at just over 350 viewers, and had a steady rate of around 290-315 viewers at any one time. And even now, its just received over 1100 views on my channel alone. So thank you to EVERYONE who watched, participated, made fun of us and asked awesome questions.

Yours without pants

Some growing pains, there was also a bit of lag from when we would start talking and when it would come through, but I agree its definitely something to pay attention to in the future.
Thanks for the feedback :)

Excellent Podcast, a very good idea. Nothing like players with 1000's of hours in the game discussing things that could be/need be improved. I've talked to some of the participants on this forum and watch Kornelius/Ant on a regular basis, was awesome to see you guys all get together and bounce ideas of each other. FD should pay attention to these discussions.

My idea for a topic would be: "The element of surprise and increasing difficulty for experienced cmdrs". I feel that currently everything in Elite is very predictable no matter what activity you do. The games that really captivate players are the ones that keep you on your toes wondering whats around the next bend, which is not something we are currently getting from Elite. Also as you gain experience, you are generally faced with more challenging missions and foes. At the moment this seems to be backwards in Elite as things only get easier and becomes less of a challenge as you progress through the game. Could an alien invasion solve some of this? Perhaps add an element of surprise and a challenge for those who are willing and experienced enough to go to the front line to face this mysterious and unpredictable foe?

Yep, I had massive issues with it, and I know you guys could barely understand me half the time, which is weird as in the podcast it sounds fine..

I've been on the phone to my ISP today to complain and get my upload speed sorted.. hopefully next time I wont suck as much. lol.

But thanks for coming Troa, was awesome having you.
