General / Off-Topic Youtubers

Please don't put spoilers into your videos. If there are aliens or secret bases or an invasion fleet in a nebula or whatever. Please take into account that some people would like to be surprised and find these in game as they happen. Maybe have spoiler warnings or use titles that don't give away secrets. Pretty please with sugar on top :)

In the past there where entire videos of all kinds of things even before I even had a chance to update the game let alone play it.

Simple answer is as above - don't watch them. Play the game instead and find interesting things yourself.

The only time I'm likely to watch YouTube is if it's posted here (and the description looks interesting), or if I've spent hours trying to work something out and failed.

Reputable Tubers mention upcoming spoilers.

I stopped watching Elite u-tube videos when people started putting in Spoilers.

That`s the best you can do, asking people to stop almost never works.

You will get more spoilers reading this forum. Just skip youtube/streamers and game forums.

Good advice that.
Also, don't check your mail box, answer the phone or talk to anyone.
I would also draw the curtains shut, best you don't leave the house either.
Oh and OP, do you have a cellar ?

You're under no obligation to watch any videos, or even go to YouTube for any reason.
Simply because something exists does not obligate you to use it.
How did we ever play our games prior to February of 2005?

The same is true for Facebook, Twitter, or any of the other 10,000 garbage sites on the internet. You don't need them. You won't die without them - in fact, you might even live longer without them. They are not necessary at all, and despite what you may believe, are little more than an advertising medium anyways.

I can understand when it comes to early access, betas etc. but for post-launch, well, if you're late to the party the guests wont wait. Show must go on.

P.S. I'm not a youtuber, I see spoilers all the time but if the content has been launched I don't blame them, I just avoid as much as I can.

I totally hear you about what a bummer surprise spoilers showing up in random YouTube vids is, and agree a spoiler warnings would be nice.

However, I don't think most of the ED YouTubers are active here (I could be wrong) so the best bet is probably to stick to those who already include spoiler warnings like Obsidian Ant.

There are no spoilers. This is an MMO and someone has to get there first.
It's a big galaxy. Really big. The odds of you randomly finding a hidden base or alien encounter are next to zero unless you hear about it from someone else.
A YouTube video is no different than a GalNet news broadcast.

If the news tells you there is a new archaeological find in desert with the remains of an unknown city and scientist are investigating,
would you consider that a spoiler that you would have preferred to discover on your own?
