You've come a long way, Frontier, but:

This subreddit post has over 800 upvotes and almost 300 comments. It's clear this is no mere suggestion - but what a lot of what our devoted community wants.

All I hope is that this will at the very least start a dialog for developers to at least consider branching out from previous limitations.

We appreciate what you do. Let's go further.

If the community wanted it, whatever it is (since the op op doesn't say), then it'd be here in the forums and not on a 3rd party troll site.

I'll just echo a comment from there:

I like the game universe as it is. It's mostly functional, and it's somewhat realistic sci fi. I don't see why it has to copy other designs in order to be considered sci fi.

Like, why would you need a massive circle as a station entrance? How practical would that be to shield? How practical would that be for traffic? Why do freighters NEED to look like trucks? FD has a very clear image for their universe, and what their ships look like. Ships are basically the equivalent of cars, as much for style as they are for function. While pointy fighters and square landing pads aren't overly imaginative, neither is a tube with boxes along it. Difference is, the former fits this specific universe, whereas the latter is simply standard sci fi.

edit: looks like there are more where this came from ... those 300 comments mainly seem to be a discussion about Elite aesthetics.

Big yes, a very big yes from me on all points, I'd like some more freighters, and even more variation in stations. Especially so if it means pirate stations that don't align with Pilots Federation standards, or grand powerplay stations that are custom built for the power. Bless you OP.

Absolutely incorrect. As the OP, I've read every single comment on the thread. Now almost 1k upvotes and 330 comments. Roughly 80-85% of the comments are positive feedback that include discussion on how it can be, and how they would love to see even one thing from said examples.

I'll also take something from the comments.

"We're 1,000 years in the future, what's ''realistic'' should be limited only by imagination, as long as it's internally consistent."

I appreciate your feedback. But there is no need to lie. Feel free to tally up each individual comment instead of scanning through it seeing only what you want to see.

I never said negative. I saw the amount of positive comments and agree with you. But I also see that most of the highest upvoted and discussed comments are much more reasonable than the initial requests. Good discussions to be had.
