I am curious about the Mining Lance, I don't have one but I am hoping to get one eventually. I watched the video in the battle with the broken 'Conda and it seemed to work as advertised. I like a mining laser that can do "some damage" which this clearly does. How does it work as a Mining Laser however? I understand it has increased range by quite a bit. I thought about getting into mining eventually and I have experimented a bit but I haven't been wildly successful at it. I was mining in a pristine metallic ring and was able to make about 800k in 2 hrs. I was using a Class 1 mining laser, I don't quite understand the difference between a class 1 and class 2 laser, much less the lance when it comes to mining. Can someone help?
The lance uses almost as much power as the Class 2 laser and has a worse fragment output than the Class 1.
It's good for sampling asteroids from a further distance than normal, but that's it.

The Lance is cr@p for both fighting and extracting the fragments.
However it has a 2km range, so one can be used effectively to sample an asteroid without using prospector or getting too close.
I am disappointed in mining as it exists. I am optimistic that like many aspects of the game, it will improve.
As a trader I am grateful for Torval's policies. I was glad to rally behind a power that supports the ethical treatment of those who would sell their temporary services to pay a debt. I don't support the trade of Imperial citizens to pirates outside of the Empire. Anyone trading within the Empire has reason to support Torval. Her wisdom and influence help all Imperial Citizens.
I encourage more Imperial CMDRs to support Torval. Please, don't listen to the self-serving disinformation that comes from the Federation or Aisling Duval.
P.S. to the devs.: Look at the number of people who use the rank 3 component in each power. If no one is using it, please change it. I suspect this isn't just an issue for Torval.

I'd haul the puppies, but there doesn't seem to be a demand for them in syntieni. Although it seems there are many FEDs that also like to trade imperial servants in our space too.

but tbh, I was tempted at first becasue of the minign laser, but since it only comes at class 1, it's kinda pointless. Why does Alisa has shields for ALL sizes? or better, why does Zemina not have Mining Lances for all sizes? Why not even HUGE mining beams and Huge mining lanzes.? that would be awesome.

Well, since she expanded she has been brought back to life quite surprisingly. In fact, she is currently tied with Aisling and Sirius for the 5th spot. She is a serious contender for the upper raw of powers.
The resurgence she had in support and organization is astonishing and respect worthy really.
I suspect that new players found a traderoute there and figured that they could also use it to get powerplay merits for even more money. The system is uninteresting and will do nothing for us.
