Hardware & Technical Zen Chip Beats i7 6900 in Demo

Performance and PRICE matter most of all. My current AMD chip gave me 90% of the performance for 10% of the price for a top end i7 at the time.

If they can match, or get close to a top end i7 and sell it cheaper, then they have a winner. They also said in the article that the freqs of the CPU will be increasing before release. Good news there. I like AMD, not because they make superior chips, but because as long as they are around Intel will be forced to keep their prices sane.

Here's their price list straight from Intel. http://files.shareholder.com/downlo...Jul_03_16_Recommended_Customer_Price_List.pdf

If nothing else, the improved performance (in relation to the current AMD CPU range) of Zen should provide some real competition for Intel.

I'm awaiting pricing for AM4 motherboards - I've already bought some DDR4 (as it would work with either AMD or Intel) - and then pricing for the 8C/16T Zen desktop CPU - being patient is proving to be somewhat challenging.

I'm holding off getting my RAM until I know what the benchmarks of the ASUS AM4 motherboard will be. If I wait until Jan / Feb the pricing will be lower too. :)
