Zero loot at Restore mission settlements

Not sure if this is a bug or not, don't remember seeing this in the patch notes, but there is now no loot at the restore mission settlements. When I mean none, I mean absolutely nothing even in maglocked lockers. Hopefully this is a bug or it turns one of the best mission types into the worst.

Did you log into the settlement following exiting the game or crashing/disconnection from the game?

Loading into a settlement deletes all mats and data. Irrespective of your motivation for logging out in the first place.

If the answer is yes, get into your ship, launch, go to supercruise, immediately drop from supercruise (it takes 1-2 seconds to allow this) and then go back. Dock. Go get your loot.

No this is from entering the settlements for the first time. I did this for two restore missions in a row with the same result, didn't try for any more since it just sucks without the loot.

Maybe a bug, maybe just bad rng.

Did the data ports show "no downloads"?

Were you in open?

Just to be clear, loot exists on restore missions. It's frequently "gone" due to supposedly being scavenged already. But rarely all of it.

Yep, there was absolutely nothing including data ports, except sample containment samples if you want to hang around for 3mins.

Lolz, no cat here. Maybe I just got unlucky as mentioned. But not really inspired to try another for possibly the same result.

I've had the full range - completely full to near empty. I reckon it's a bit of RNG (why would an abandoned settlement be full of stuff) and other Cmdrs.

Yeh it's sort of a thing of balance. Inactive settlements represent the simplest route to gathering loot. Lowest risk, least effort. The counterpoint is you don't get as much.

But it shouldn't be entirely empty. Though I've never seen one entirely empty though. Except logging back in.

Just hit up an offline settlement that had plenty of loot, so not "new bug since the patch". Do the settlements with no loot continue to have no loot if you supercruise away and come back?

Just after the OPs ship breaks orbit, a short distance form the settlement, from just behind small rise, a sidewinder lifts into the air and moves in small bursts of its thrusters to land lightly closer by

its pilot emerges giggling into the helmet of her maverick suit as she stealthily replaces all the loot in the containers and lockers

(Sorry don't mean to make light of a frustrating situation, i just couldn't help myself, the image was irresistible)

Damn I wich I knew this before clearing this settlerment.
Been gone since my GFX didnt handle the game and now I have a new one.
Crashed 2 times entering this settlement.

Just an update to this, you now need to actually go to orbit then return. Just following what I said above won't reset everything. It doesn't add much to the time though.

Just jump to SC, fly into orbit and level out, fly away for a couple seconds at full throttle, cut to 30k/s then turn around and approach again to enter glide and land. The act of entering orbit resets the settlement fully.

Good thing that I returned to this here thread.
Or I would have been very unhappy later tonight when I am at home again after work.
If I crahsed to desktop again.

Did this behaviour change with update 13?
I believe the "go to orbit Orbital Cruise to reset the settlement" behavior was implemented on Odyssey's release in response to relog-farming in the Alpha, IIRC.

Edit: Clarified that I meant Orbital Cruise 🙃
