If you're interested in doing laser mining for PowerPlay or out in the black, the Torval Mining Ltd Modified Mining Lasers cannot be beat if you've got a tiny power distributor like the Type 8's Size 4 Power Distributor. Let's look at how to unlock the necessary system permit, "buy" the lasers (hint: you need materials and osmium), buy and outfit a Type 8 for laser mining, and lastly show you it at work even without engineering the power distributor (hint: it works just fine with five (!) mining lasers!).
