Need help getting inspired for a new zoo? Try this challenge!

How to decide on your animals:

If your birthday is in . . .
  • January or August — North America
  • March or October — Oceania
  • May or December — Asia
  • July or February — South America
  • September or April — Africa
  • November or June — Europe
If your first name starts with . . .
  • A through M — Herbivore or Omnivore
  • N through Z — Carnivore, Piscivore, or Insectivore
If your last name starts with . . .
  • A through D — Tropical
  • E through H — Taiga
  • I through M — Grasslands
  • N through R — Temperate
  • S through V — Desert
  • W through Z — Tundra
For example, mine would be a European herbivore from a temperate biome, so my choices would be the European fallow deer, the red deer, etc. Meanwhile, my sister’s would be an Asian herbivore from a grassland biome, so my choices would be the Przewalski’s horse, the Indian elephant, the Indian rhinoceros, etc.

Repeat this process with other people who you know. The minimum number of species is 10. You don’t have to place the animals in the order that you come up with them. You can just come up with a list beforehand and then place the animals in any order you’d like.
