Zorgon Interstallar Bank

If there is already a bank somewhere and I just don't know about it clue me in but I think it might be nice to have a repository where we could just store credits, like a savings account. Maybe it could be accessed at High Tech Systems (which seem to be far and few between in my experience), kind of like the Black Market option that is not available everywhere. When you get into the 100's of millions of credits (or more) in your pocket it's a lot to lose should you get pirated.

Sure, we can buy ships and just leave them as little chunks of change at different ports but a centralized system might be more beneficial.

Thoughts?

But... you don't lose money on death in this game, it stays in your space age bank account. Pirates can also not take your money, only your cargo or life. Why would we need to store it anywhere when it is being stored already?

Funny, I have read of folks "losing it all!" to pirates and getting bent out of shape and quitting and all that yadda yadda whiny . I'm not against losing but I AM saving up to buy my own Outpost. :)

You never really die in this game, merely eject, and get thrown back to last base through a life/escape pod.
Your (destroyed) ship is another issue, though.

Yes, yes, yes... technically.

If they're not overreacting then they simply mean they didn't have enough money for insurance and couldn't afford to re-buy their ship or cargo and as such had to go back to flying a sidewinder. So they "lost everything". The risk of flying without money to cover your insurance is theirs to take.

Well, some people do "lose it all" to pirates, in the sense that they spend every last cent on their ship and its cargo, with not enough left for insurance. When they get destroyed, they can't afford to buy it back, and hence have to start over.

Well Good luck with that one Cmdr. I fear you will be saving for a long, long, long time :)
If I were you I would set up some more intermediate goals, just a suggestion mind you :)

About people loosing all: Peeps that have not learnt to read, peeps living on the line, peeps that take stupid risks, keep savings for insurance and you will be on top of the galaxy :D
Cheers Cmdr's

And even if we had a Bank Facilities to store funds, these people wouldn't use it anyway.

True, if you're reckless enough to leave the station with expensive ship and cargo without enough insurance, a savings account probably isn't your thing ;)
